Yarmouth 11/6/09

5.05 Yarmouth Brett Vale is considerably ahead of the handicapper even taking into account the penalty, and with Rosie Jessop offsetting that somewhat, he looks sure to go well after his romp at Brighton yesterday. The son of Sinndar had the race wrapped up a long way from home, and if Sir Mark Prescott gives him the thumbs up to go again here he is likely to take all the beating. 5/6 Bet 365 5.35 Yarmouth Taste The Wine goes for the hat-trick here for Stan Moore and looks sure to give a good account as he is proven over the trip and has gone well on similar ground before. He runs off an 8 lb higher mark as a result of his last win, but that did come in this grade and he should go well. Vita Mia also won last time out in this grade (0-70, class 5) and looks nicely priced, abeit if running off a 6 lb higher mark. Taste The Wine 0.6 pt @ 5.0 Betfair Vita Mia 10/1 Bet 365

Re: Yarmouth 11/6/09 3.25 Makaam 11/8 pp bog 10 pts Big gamble here given the stable are having its first run for a while having been out of form earlier this season. Some could say a shortish price given that but clearly the trainer feels his horses are ready to run again and Prescott did something very similar the other day only to have one bolt up a couple of times since, mind you probably had 20+ pounds in hand. Anyway this one’s form looks ready to win a maiden if in similar form. Two top runs, one behind the well regarded crown choice who has won well since and that was a race in general that worked out well. The other was in what at the time seemed it could be a decent a/w maiden to just be second to one from stoute’s. It should be fine on turf and whilst there has to be some concerns as to the stable’s health, clearly the trainer thinks they can run and could be hard to beat if on his game. 4.00 Al Qeddaaf 3/1 tote 10 pts This one comes from a stable who’s form has got better as the season has gone on and could well relish this extra distance. Has run over 3 distances which on pedigree would be unsuitable only for to actually perform with some credit and show its not without speed. The second start especially when he was second would be a prime example. However he still looked a bit outpaced over 6f which isn’t surprising given there is some more stamina lines on pedigree. Given that it could really perform up to a mile for its handicap bow off 65 which could be fair if he makes the improvement hinted out over this new trip.
