Leicester (eve) - 19/5/09

Recommended Posts

7.40 Leicester Snowed Under – hails from the inform James Bethell yard. Has only been raised 1 lb for a win in this grade, over this trip, last time out. He won over course and distance in July and is, infact, a CD expert (6-12). He’s versatile ground wise and should go well although vulnerable to progressive rivals. Success may depend on whether Millies Rock disputes the lead. Annabelle’s Charm would have been my pick if O'Neill had kept the ride as she is still well handicapped, but Snowed Under is prolific around these parts and is taken to spring an upset with James Bethell 4-11 in the past fortnight. William Hill go 7/1, suggested bet 5 pts EW.

Re: Leicester (eve) - 19/5/09 6.40 Time Medicean 10/1 bet3 bog 5 pts e.w Tough looking race with a few coming into on the back of a victory including this one who could run well. Channon seems to think a fair bit of it, he feels it is good enough at least to work with Atlantic sport and fantastic Dubai and lto it put up quite a good performance. Its earlier runs showed some promise but often he failed to quite see out 7f. Back to 6f proved the answer as he won in good fashion lto beating a subsequent winner. He runs off 79 today in a handicap for the first time and he could go well. 8.40 Non Dom 11/8 lad 10 pts This is what I said about this one lto, ‘The trainer has won this race a few times in recent years and may have targeted it again. This one has now qualified for handicaps after 3 reasonable runs over an inadequate distance in truth. He has been racing over a mile and he has regularly been outpaced before staying on a touch and in some reasonable maidens. The first one was behind Your Old Pal with types like classically and kings destiny in there as well. The second was behind one of haggas with once again a few fair types in their like everynight, petrovsky. After that was a bit disappointing on the a.w but there was no real gallop that day and that never suited him. He looks to have a fair bit of stamina in him and whilst quicker ground is an unknown, looking at some of his relations, they seemed fine of quicker ground so could get away with it and the extra few furlongs today really should help him off 65 for the first time in a handicap.’ It won well that day and not a major surprise to see him out again and every chance of the quick double.
