Lingfield (eve) 12/5/09

Recommended Posts

6.50 Lingfield The Galloping Shoe returned from a 358-day break and shaped with promise on his handicap debut when chasing home Light From Mars at Windsor last time out. He briefly found himself short of space 2-1f out, but once a gap between Light From Mars and Trans Siberian appeared, he ran on well, and will strip fitter for that run. The form of that race is working out well with the winner running a close second to Dunno off 88 last time out and the third, Mystery Star, landing a race off 85, so The Galloping Shoe was clearly rubbing shoulders with some useful handicappers and could have further improvement to offer off his mark of 80 even after a modest rise from last time out. With fresh assurances regarding his well being after that run, he should go well for Jeremy Noseda.

Re: Lingfield (eve) 12/5/09 6.20 Spring Adventure 15/8 wh bog 10 pts Not the easiest maiden to call but this one should go close. She ran an encouraging race on debut to be a closing third at the line over 7f and then put in another decent effort to be third in what was a better maiden at hq afterwards. The second who for me was unlucky not to win that day has boosted the form since by winning well although the winner was a bit disappointing last week. However Spring Adventure ran well that day over 7f and her style of running so far encourages that this extra furlong should suit and she should go well. 6.50 The Galloping Shoe evens cor 10 pts I still think there could be more to come from this one. A slight doubt here is that is the possible ‘bounce factor’ as it ran its first race for a year lto. However on both its starts its shown decent ability now. Won its maiden well and then ran well in a handicap lto which has worked out. The winner ran well afterwards in a narrow defeat, the third is a decent handicapper and has been second and first since, the fourth has also won since and the fifth has been second so the form looks solid. Up three pounds for that effort but that looks fair now and as long as there isn’t a bounce factor here then should go close.
