NRL Round 5

Recommended Posts

Canberra @ 2.00 (Betfair) The Sharks have started the year slowly, and the loss of Taulapapa, Snowden and particularly Gallen won't make the job of getting back on track any easier. Trent Barrett is returning but there are still question marks over his fitness with some rumours suggesting he may still be lacking feeling in his left hand. The Raiders have traditionally struggled at Shark Park, losing both of last years games. However, they have shown promise early this year, being unlucky in 2 of their 3 loses, and I feel that with such a strong pack, the Raiders should be able to come away with the points here. Dragons -4.0pts @ 1.90 (Bet365) The Dragons have had an amazing start to their 2009 campaign under their new 'supercoach' Wayne Bennett. They proved last week what they were capable of up in Brisbane, and this week they come up against an Eels side who have been fairly ordinary in their last 2 matches. Add to that the turmoil in the club over the past few days due to Brett Finch leaving, and rumours that other players may follow, the Dragons should win this comfortably. Good Luck all and have a Happy Easter! :)

Re: NRL Round 5 Broncos win by 13+ margin (3.25 @ bet 365) The Roosters may have beaten Parramatta last week, but that was a side in disarray and prior to that, the Roosters were not playing all that well. As for the Broncos, they may have lost to St George but they have shown some good form in the first few games of the season and look to their centre pairing of Hodges and Folau to make a big difference out wide where the Roosters have looked shaky. The Broncos should have too much for the Roosters as recent form is also on their side where they have won seven of the past eight games between the sides and as well as 12 of the last 17 clashes against the Roosters at the SFS. In terms of Good Friday clashes, the Broncos have won the last 5 games St George win by 13+ margin (3.25 @ bet 365) Parramatta have all sorts of problems on the field as well off the field. One wonders where their heads are and if they are tuned on for this game. The team kacks directions and leadership, as well as a bit of character when the going gets tough, as only Hindmarsh seems to be giving it his all. They face a rejuvenated Dragons sode led by their coach Bennett, who even early on, has instilled a winning attitude at the club, as confirmed by last weeks win over his old club the Broncos. Their discipline is quite good with a low average of penalties conceded and they are able to gain good yardage in their plays. Look to the Dragons to repeat the hammering they gave the Eels last year where they won 40-14 as these two teams are headed in the opposite direction
