Re: International Friendlies ( 27-28 march ) Been a bit of a market move towards Slovakia today and I quite fancy opposing it. I've backed them at 14/1 to win the match, and at 1.94 +1.75 on the handicap, just small, as internationals really are tricky. They're not a bad side, top of their qualifying group. England's record in friendlies is not particularly great. Under Capello, 0-2 v Spain, 2-1 v Germany, 2-2 v Czech, 3-0 v Trinidad & Tobago, 2-0 v USA, 0-2 v France, 2-1 v Switzerland. Not bad, but not as good as qualifying , and they'll be even less focussed on this one than those results as it's the first time we've had a friendly three days before a qualifying game. Two or three important players will be left out, while Slovakia will probably play the strongest team. Home advantage isn't huge either - Slovakia have a good away record, England's record at Wembley isn't amazing and I can imagine the crowd getting on their back or the atmosphere dying in the second half unless they're winning comfortably. There's also the argument that the market over rates England as it knows that's where most of the money is going to go, not convinced about this though as I remember how long the market was against Switzerland a year ago, I backed England that today. I think England odds-on off -1.75 so have gone the other way. Any opinion?
