Villegas 41 bluesq 2pts e.w The Colombian has always been hyped up as a player and from the middle of last season he has started to deliver. He has won some big tournaments on the pga tour and is now in the top 10 in the world. He has started off this year pretty well too with 3 top 12 finishes including a run at the matchplay where he looked in class form before losing to the eventual finalist. He was never over par in any of his rounds here last year in this and now is in much better from and a much more rounded player. Could have a good week. Baddeley 67 bet3 2 pts e.w A player who appears to go well here. He was t6 in 2007 and t15 last year in this event. He has also played solidly so far this year without being spectacular, he has made all the cuts this year and two T12s. Also at the matchplay he only just lost to the eventual finalist Casey in round 1 there. His putting is definitely his strength, he leads the putting stats and if the rest of his game can hold up it could be a good week for the Aussie. C.Campbell 126 2 pts e.w A bit of a wildshot this one but a player capable at a price. He finished 2008 well, it enabled him to get a ryder cup wildcard where he played respectably. He didn’t win an event but made virtually all the cuts and had quite a few top 10s. So far in 2009 he hasn’t played much but was in the top 10 the first time he played this year and no doubt is a solid enough player on his day who normally plays very consistently, especially in the ball striking department and he may go well at a price. Huge odds on the exchanges but going the more conservative option for e.w price.

Re: Golf: WGC CA Championship 2009 WGC CA Championship Course: Blue course, Doral Resort & Spa Location: Doral, Florida Since: 1962 Yardage: 7,226 Par: 72 Low winning total: 264 (-24) Tiger Woods 2005 Course Record: 61 Stephen Ames 2000 Field: 80 Cut: No cut Tee Off: Thursday 15.30 GMT In 2007 Doral became host to the WGC-CA Championship - a 72-hole strokeplay tournament with no cut and a limited field. Last year on the saturday the tournament was disrupted by heavy afternoon thunderstorms with 61 players still to complete their third round. Again on Sunday dangerous weather stopped play and the fourth round was finished on Monday morning. The weather did not disrupt Geoff Ogilvy who led from start to finish. He shot 17-under to finish one stroke ahead of two-time U.S.Open champion Retief Goosen, three-time major champion Vijay Singh and 2003 U.S. Open winner, Jim Furyk. He also ended Tiger Woods' PGA Tour win streak at five. Commonly known as the 'Blue Monster' the course has wide palm tree lined fairways, raised undulating greens, thick Bermuda rough and an assortment of water hazards. Despite its name there is little monstrous about the course and with five par fours under 430 yards and four par fives on the card, players are often faced with little more than a wedge for their approach shots. In 2006 the course suffered severely form Hurricanes Katrina and Wilma, losing over 3000 trees but most of those have been replaced and with water hazards in play on 11 holes and over 100 bunkers players will need to drive the ball well. Long hitters of the ball can take advantage on some of the short par fours particularly the 16th which is drivable. The raised Bermuda greens are large and undulating and heavily protected by bunkers. Accurate approach shots are required to the right part of the green or players will be left with some very long and difficult putts. The greens are expected to be smooth and firm and good putters will thrive. Tiger Woods is the master of Doral with three wins from six appearances (2005, 2006 and 2007) and no finish worse than ninth. He also holds the most WGC titles with 15. Geoff Ogilvy, the only player besides Tiger Woods with at least three WGC wins, is the defending champion here and has victories in two of the last three WGC events. The forecast is good with sunny skies and light winds expected on all four days. If the wind stays away, players will need to make a lot of birdies to keep pace and the winning score will be around 20 under par. (Courtesy of http://www.golf365.com) Predictions: Tiger Woods @4.50 Paddypower Due to Accenture being the main sponsor for Tiger is probably the reason why he surprised everyone by playing in that tournament as his comeback 2 weeks ago. He showed glimpses of his game their however his sharpness was off and he ultimately paid the price for it. Tiger knows this place like the back of his hand and it is a place where his game thrives having won 3 times at this course in 6 attempts. In his time away Tiger had been concentrating on his iron play and putting which will show him in good stead here and I can see him back with a bang here! Geoff Ogilvy @13.00 EW Paddypower Ogilvy is the defending champion here and proved his well being in the Accenture 2 weeks ago beating Casey quite easily in the final. He likes these WGC events having won 2 out of the last 3 and if Tiger were to still be jaded from his enforced absence then the man to take advantage of this will be Ogilvy. 2 short prices however I can't get away from the fact of their chances and will look for some each way in running on this tournament. :ok
