Tonight is a great opportunity to back Wellington. Wellington have been the outstanding team of the Air New Zealand cup. They have named their strongest team to date for their semi against Southland. 14.5 doesn't look like enough for Southland. They defend well but don't have the weapons to really trouble the Wellington team. With the attack that the lions possess this game could be close for 60 minutes and they still could win by 20+. These teams met under very similar circumstances last year in a quarter final and wellington won 45-3. The Lions have a much stronger team for this fixture and a similar score is not out of the question. Southland defended well and Wellington didn't capitalise on their many chances. Wellington really upped the pressure in the last 20 minutes when they were 3 behind, and with 1 minute to go were 14 points up, and looking threatening.
