Brand new casino strategy......

......actually it's not, it's the hottest discussion topic here, but I had never heard of Martingdale 'til I came to post my experience and had a look round at the topics to see if anyone else had tried it.....I don't use systems or strategies, I usually stick to looking for value fixed odds bets, betting for fun (good job in the last few months, see TCVI ;) ), but yesterday I invested £20 in an online casino and bet as follows..... Go onto a roulette table and as they post the previous 5 results, wait for a previous five of all one colour. If the previous 5 are mixed, leave the table, go back in and try again until you get the five, or if there are 4 of one colour spin without betting, if you get the five then put £1 on the opposite colour..... You then chase your losses with 2,4,8,16 as you need to until you get the winner, using the word 'until' advisedly, up to a maximum loss of £31......to lose this would mean a run of 10 balls landing on one colour and when this happens you walk away....... Starting with £20 only using this system I spent a happy afternoon slowly building up to £101 (takes a while as you have to keep joining and leaving the table and you are only building by £1 a time) at which point I withdrew £70, leaving £31 to carry on the system....which I promptly lost after a run of 12 reds in a row:( I came on here to post this experience but now realise it is a hot topic, certainly wouldn't advocate using it for general betting, but I made £50 profit from a £20 investment, and given the £25 bonuses available from a few casinos at the mo it beats watching Liverpool send a decent treble up the Swannee >D

Re: Brand new casino strategy...... You're taking the piss here, right? Do you know what the gambler's fallacy is? Tell you what, if you like this strategy so much, why don't we meet up and I'll be your casino. You can bet double your money with me and I'll even remove the house edge for you, how about that?

Re: Brand new casino strategy...... Er, no, not taking the piss, just sharing an experience of having a bit of luck at a casino, as previously stated I certainly wouldn't use it for footy betting As I said my idea was to limit any losses to a five time losing run (which didn't happen until I was £71 to the good) and quit, just a bit of fun for a Friday afternoon off work This sounds like I'm trying to promote the system as a great way of free money, I'm not in any way whatsoever and under no illusions what would happen if anyone were to treat it that way......just wanted any other opinions on it, thanks for yours Joe ;)

Here's another challenge. Anyone who can prove they have continuously used Martingale to make a long term career out of betting can have everything I own.
But that is not the point. If anyone can prove to me that over the long term a losing system with level stakes can become a winning system with progressive staking then I will give them my house.
You ought to be careful, some lucky fcuker will take you to the cleaners....;) Right, now I've been shot down in flames it's back to the fixed odds........:D

I am quite confident that they won't and can't. I wouldn't offer such silly bets otherwise ;) Just for the record, don't do silly things like wait for 5 reds in a row before betting black. The probability of a black after 1,000 reds in a row is still 50% (minus house edge), as it also is for the 1,001st red. Out of interest, why would you follow Martingale at the casino where there is amsolutely no possibility of gaining an edge (except at cards using card counting and then they ban you), whilst is fixed odds football you can? Martingale is a disaster at the best of times, even if you have an edge (and if you do, you'd be much wiser chosing another staking plan). But if you don't have an edge then it's financial suicide.

Re: Brand new casino strategy...... Gotta agree with Joe here. I did play around with rouletteover the weekend, only using the demo's though, not my own money! I did manage to get 20% profit in ten minutes using the martingale approach. I then managed to get this to 350% after about 3 hours of play. Then the problems arose. The house limit was too small (in this case 800 points), so if you started with 1 point betting you would end up betting with 512 points after 9 failed bets. If that failed, you couldn't get your money back because you couldn't bet with 1024 points. It took a while to get 10 bet failures on the trot, but when it didihappen it bites hard. then when it happened again pretty quickly afterwards that hurt even harder. In the end I was playing to get my points back, and it's fair to say I lost the lot. Thankfully it wasn't with my own money, I just tried it for my own experience to have a safe go with an aggressive staking plan. While in th eshort term you may get lucky and win, in the long term it will fcuk you over! Back to sports betting and a more moderate staking plan! Whopper73
