Do you belong to the poker society at your university? Would you like to take part in the biggest student freeroll series, for a chance to win cash and prizes for yourself and for your team? Read on… PokerPlayer, in conjunction with Bet365, are proud to announce the 2009 UK Online Student Poker Championships. Each month, starting from November, PokerPlayer magazine will be running a freeroll, and each participating poker society will be invited to enter five players in each freeroll. Points will be awarded in relation to where in the field each of your team members finish. Full reports of the tournament will appear in the magazine and on this website. We will also publish leaderboards in the magazine and online and there will be individual prizes for each tournament. After four freerolls the top four societies that have accumulated the most points will be invited to the Grand Final, all expenses paid, at a venue to be determined. Grand Final day will consist of two semi-finals in which the five team members will play one heads-up match each and then a final, played in the same way. The first freeroll will take place sometime in mid November so you have plenty of time to pick a team but we need you to register an interest asap. The full package of prizes on offer is listed below. A prize pool of $1500 for each of the 4 freerolls split amongst all the players at the final table Travel and accommodation expenses for the 20 playing finalists at the Grand Final at a venue to be agreed (depending on Geography of finalists) $5000 split between the final 4 teams ($2500, $1250, $750, $500) Individual trophies for all 4 teams (Winners, Runners-Up, Semi-finalists) One poker table for each of the four final teams and individual chipsets for all of the individual finalists To register your society in this competition please email [email protected] Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Feerolls are on 19th November, 17th December, 16th January, 13th February at Bet365. If, however, you can happily say 'yes' to all three, we're happy to announce the launch of the biggest UK online student poker championship ever. It's a team event, and you'll need to gather a squad of five players if you want to get involved. How does it work? There are four qualifying freerolls, one per month for the next four months. To take part, you need to register a team of five students, all of whom are eligible to play in each event. Each freeroll has a prize pool of $1,500 which will be split between the final table. In addition, points will be awarded from 50th down to first (from one point up to 50). At the end of the freerolls, the four teams with the most points will be invited to a live grand final, consisting of a series of heads-up matches, with two semi-finals and a final to determine the winning team.
