Re: Sweden, Allsvenskan, 22-24th of september. Tuesday 23 September 2008 – 19.45h CET Sweden - Allsvenskan IF Elfsborg - Hammarby IF It’s a very important week for IF Elfsborg in which they will try to take over the first position from Kalmar FF. They are now 4 points behind Kalmar FF, but with Kalmar having a tough away game against Helsingborgs FF on Wednesday and with the game between Kalmar and Elfsborg upcoming Sunday, everything still seems possible for Elfsborg. However, they first need to win themselves against Hammarby IF. IF Elfsborg is very strong at home, with now 28 out of the possible 33 points. And even more noticeable is the fact that they just got 1 goal against at home in 11 matches, which was in their only loss (0-1 against Gefle IF). However, they have won their last 2 home matches rather convincing, both with a 4-0 scoreline, against Malmö FF and Ljungskile SK. This also underlines their good current form, with 7 of the last 9 games won. However, they do miss important and creative midfielder Stefan Ishizaki, who also is the topscorer in the team of IF Elfsborg. He has scored 8 of the in total 33 goals of Elfsborg this season. However, after he was substituted against Malmö FF, Elfsborg still managed to score 3 more goals and one of them was by his replacement Emir Bajrami, who is also likely to start today. Probable line-up IF Elfsborg (4-2-3-1): Wiland; Karlsson, Augustsson, Lucic, Florén; Mobaeck, Danielsson; Nilsson, Svensson, Bajrami; Keene Hammarby IF is having a hard time with just 1 point from their last 4 games. However, they are currently still 5th in the league and they still have possibilities to go up, since the gap with the teams above them is not that big. Although losses in their last two games against higher ranked teams (5-1 against Helsingborgs IF away and 1-2 against Kalmar FF at home) is not really promising for tonight. And there are some reasons for the decreasing results of Hammarby. They lost 2 important players during the summer, Paulinho Guará to Busan l’Park (Sotuh Korea) and Petter Andersson to FC Groningen (The Netherlands), who scored together 10 goals of the 34 goals that Hammarby scored until now. But for the match against Elfsborg they will also miss important player Louay Chanko due to suspension. He also scored 4 goals this season, so they miss about 40% of their goal production. Probable line-up Hammarby IF (4-4-2): Björklund; Johansson, Traoré, Monteiro, Johansson; Zengin, Jensen, Söderström; Gaete, Söderberg, Davies Both teams miss an important player for this match. However, IF Elfsborg seems to be well organized, so they should be able to deal with this loss. This is a different story for Hammarby, since they still seem to be having trouble to cope with the new line-up after the summer, so this will surely makes things even harder. Elfsborg should be able to take control of midfield and since their defence is solid as well, they will put a lot of pressure of Hammarby’s defence. And given the fact that Hammarby IF has only kept a clean sheet once in the last 12 league matches, I cannot see them keeping a clean sheet here, since Elfsborg always plays well against teams that are willing to play as well. Therefore, I feel confident in a bet on the home win Pick: IF Elfsborg 08/10 @ 1,65 (Interwetten)

ReasoningEflsborg are solid at home, they have won 9 from 11 and lost just 1 on home turf this season. They have won their last 2 home games 4-0 whereas Hammarby have conceded 12 in their last 4 with no wins recorded. On form, the only result can be a home win here.

ReasoningNorrkoping sit bottom of the table but im taking a chance on them here as they have showed improved form lately. They were beaten 4-3 at home to Helsingborg last time which was no poor performance as that team sit 3rd top. Their previous 2 home games resulted in a 2-2 draw with Goteburg and a 2-1 victory against Gefle. Malmo meanwhile, have conceded 7 in their last 2, losing 4-0 away at Elfsborg and 3-0 at home to Halmstad. They look a bit short here and I'll take a chance in laying them.

ReasoningTaking a chance on the away side here. Gefle lost 2-1 at home to Malmo two games ago and drew with Orebro last time. GAIS have won their last 2 meanwhile with a home victory at Djugarden and an impressive away win at Goteburg who sit 4th top. GAIS have won the last 2 encounters between these sides and look value again tonight.
