this was from the pokerstars $10pl game tonight. unfortunately i hadnt noticed that my hh was turned off:wallbut i can remember the most important bits. blinds are 500/1000 i am on the button with 35k(lying 3rd at the moment) next best stack on my table has 12k:) the guy with 12k raises from utg+1 up to 2.5k . he has been pretty tight as i have been calling a lot of raises down:tongue2,also only seems to raise with a big pp. i hold 810jq and flat call hoping to bust him. then the bb pushes all in for about 8k he has only been on the table a little while but again i have only seen him raise with pps while hes been there. then the original raiser goes all in 12k total:loon so it leaves you with a call of 9.5k into a 32k pot. so what would you do call or fold and why?

Re: interesting omaha hand Ramblings of a supposed Omaha fan... My first instinct was to fold...reckoning you would be way behind if they both had high pairs...say AA,KK. However had a mess about with cardplayer calculator and was quite surprised by some of the odds it kicked out. AA double suited and KK double suited puts you on 25% ish to win...as this was, I thought, the main scenario in which you would be way behind...but no!...3/1 to win with pot odds of 3.36/1 so my first idea goes out the window. Putting both on AA double suited actually levels the field at 2/1 each of 3...so good pot odds. Anyway...messed about a bit more with differing hands and your odds generally go from 20% -33% (although one gave 8% and one 45%) So guessing your average odds at around 26% = 2.85/1 giving good pot odds...so having a go would probably be the right move...but I still feel it is counter intuitive...at least for me! back to your question...I would have folded as would have felt I would be way behind. However the ''correct'' move appears to be a call...if I've got the average odds right, which I think I have. :unsure:unsure:unsure
