Not a vintage day but 4.15 Ainia 3/1 var bog 1 pt win Had an eye on this one waiting for it to qualify for a handicap and now it has done that. Showed some ability at a relative level on all three starts, even fifth on debut hinted at something, then the run I like when staying on at good in the style of a real eyecatcher, around some nice horses that day, some of whom have run well since and off higher marks than the one this one has got today, lto she was third but early signs show that it wasnt a bad effort, godolphin horse won at 1/5 since despite going a furlong or two more than anyone else and offshore anna has plugged on again since into a place so a bit of form there and I think off 73 today she has a fair chance, probably will be even better when slightly up in trip but stiff mile today should be jsut about fine.

Re: Chepstow 5/8/08 Chep 4.15 Ainia - looks to have been given a chance by the handicapper here, rated 73. Made her turf debut at the end of May at Goodwood, finishing an encouraging 4th of 11. 3rd (Fountain's Abbey) and 2nd (Soft Shoe Shuffle) both won maiden fillies races NTO to give the form a boost. She raced over a mile again for her last run, at Ripon, and finished a 3 length 2nd to the odds on fav, La Sarrazine. That rival was rated 78 for that race, so despite the 3 length distance between the pair, Ainia could have claims running off 73 here. The form of that Ripon race looks strong because even though the fav is unraced since, 3rd won very comfortably NTO and the 5th has run two decent races since, albeit off 64 and 69 in class 5 handicaps. Ainia was well clear of both of those rivals to suggest she has solid claims here.
