7.35 I had a word for Mark Johnston's Metroland before her debut, and like 99% of words before a 2yo makes their debut, she was a beaten favourite. She is looking exposed now with formlines of 3523 - but for Auction maidens, she has run into some decent types - Russet Reward, Spin Cycle, Favourite Girl. It's looks a case of now or never for her in this weak race. Her market rival comes from the Alan Swinbank yard, that made a pleasing debut but they are 0-16 with their 2yo's here. Mark Johnston's 2yo's however are 11/22 here - although that didn't help Metroland LTO when she was 3rd over 6f here. Metroland 100% of stake just over 6/4 on betfair at present

Re: Carlisle 05/07/08 7.35 Metroland - on debut finished 3/4 but had Russet Reward behind. Russet Reward has won since and contested a listed event at Sandown LTO. On second start found a few too good but 1st (Spin Cycle) has just ran a cracker in a Group 2 at Ascot and won a class 2 conditions stakes at Muss too. On third run it got beaten by Russet Reward by a neck at Ayr, but he ran the winner close and there were only 3 runners. LTO it finished 3rd at Carlise (btn 3.5 l),which was disappointing. However, 1st (Favourite Girl) won again yesterday
