The closest racecourse to London is set in Sunbury-on-Thames near Richmond and stages both Flat and Jump racing throughout the year. The feature race meeting of the year is the traditional Christmas Festival on December 26 and 27. The brand new all-weather floodlit course has racing from March right through to December with a mixture of daytime and evening fixtures. Todays fixtures in here.:ok

Re: Kempton Park 02/07/08 9-20 - Kempton - Sahaadi each way Back over 6 furlongs tonight, a distance only tried once before, which was on his racecourse debut. Has raced over 7, 8 or 10 furlongs in his other 7 races. Rated 77 when winning a class 5 maiden back in September. Okay, it was a crappy race, but the 2nd, 3rd and 4th have all won twice each since, and the 7th has won once. May get a soft lead tonight, and that's how he won before, quickening up two out and they were unable to get to him. Down to a mark of 67 now, and the jockey tonight is one of the Eddery clan, who's claiming 5 pounds. His previous jockeys were Richard Hughes (4) Pat Dobbs (3) and Ryan Moore (1) So this is the first time this horse will be apprentice ridden. Logically, with the claim, he's now 15 pounds below his original mark. Hannon may be up to something. Who knows? I don't, but at largish odds I'll part with a couple of quid to find out. 22/1 with Sporting Bet, 14s and 16s elsewhere. 22 on Betfair to win, and 5.6 for a place but only for small change.
