Huntingdon ~ Wednesday

Recommended Posts

525 Huntingdon : Cortinas (nap) Interseting novice hurdle with three winners in the race, the paper fav Beherayn won last time but may have been a touch lucky as the second was given too much to do, he looks set to try and make all and could set things up for others, Atomic Winner is only a 4yo and carries a double penalty, the form from the Ludlow race doesnt look so good now since other horses have ran from the race and anyway Peacful Means is much better off at the weights and may struggle to beat that one home today, would have been a lay if the f/c was shorter. This leaves Cortinas from the Charlie Mann stable who are in good form, this one has had a small break to wait for the ground after a very impressive win over this track beating The Grey Berry easily. Runs off the pace and i'll be disappointed if he cant catch Beyerayn before the last flight. 7.40 Barton Sun/ Ashwell Lad Taking two against the field here in a very moderate race. Noted Ashwell Lad finishing strongly in a previous race and thought the extra distance would suit, ground went against him last time but tonights conditions should be ideal, stable going well too. Barton Sun has lost his form of late but Graham Lee reunites the partnership and again goes over a longer trip on ground that looks perfect, wouldnt at all be surprised to see this one bounce back tonight. Both available at around 10/1 at the moment which i reckon is excellent value EW.

Re: Huntingdon ~ Wednesday 6.30 Huntingdon. Wenger. Lay. (Racing Post SP 3/1) In better form recently, but gone up in the weights since returning with a win and they suggest he needs a repeat of that recent best to be winning again this evening. The ground's quickening all the time too, and although he can go on a faster surface, I do believe he preferes good or softer, and so another slight question to answer. Trip's fine, but I just feel with several 'appearing' better weighted the 3/1 is very short. If he wins, then fair play to him.
