Yarmouth 2.00 Mukhber debut win last season has worked out well and he was a was a warm order on the morning of his seasonal debut earlier in the month. He drifted quite badly on course, either the on course bookmakers took a view and though he was too short (as most of us did), or there was the feeling that he needed the run. Whatever the reason he ran a cracking race. He was held up well off the pace but moved up stylishing and the bridle but never really landed a blow. He was the only horse who finished prominently to run alongside the near rail, the front three challenged up the middle and that may be why his challenge wasn't more telling. The race is worknig out well, the 2nd won a fair handicap at Windsor despite a rise and the 5th ran up to form NTO too. He looks certain to find a race off this mark. One concern is the ground, which is an unknown. Sir Billy Nick has done nothing wrong so far, albeit only in average dirt maidens. He improved greatly for the step up to a mile LTO and there will be more to come from him at the trip. He has been given a chance with his 76 rating and with the stable's horses all running well be cannot be left out. Re: Yarmouth - Monday 28/04/08 4.30 Yarmouth - Greyfriars Abbey - impressive winner at Beverley last week beating the fav Mighty Moon by 5 lengths and has form on firm ground from last season. Carries a 6 lb penalty today but if in the same mood as on Thursday then could take all the beating.
