Warwick Tues 15th

Recommended Posts

4.00 Interesting conditions event with possibly better horses than you would normally see in a cl 3 race. I like Dabbers Ridge who may just be a bit of value on its favoured ground. On Soft ground, its form reads 5 runs 2 wins 2 places. Over 7f on soft ground it reads 1-2-5 from 3 runs Will no doubt contest some big handicaps this year & is 3lb worse off with Welsh Emperor if this were a handicap. Welsh Emperor took time to get going last year & i am hoping it will be ring rusty again as it will need front running tactics to beat these. Dabbers can certainly be staying on at the end as its a 7f specialist whereas Welsh emperor has a lot of winning form over 6f. Hills has lso trained the last 2 winners of this race so another positive for my selection. Tissue is around 4/1 which will be nice.

Re: Warwick Tues 15th Warwick 3.30 – Digital (9/2) – returned in good heart this season with a 0.75 length second at Kempton and then followed that up with a 2.75 length victory at Bath on good-soft ground LTO. Has been dealt a 6 lb penalty for that win but could still get involved again for jockey O’Brien as it is suited to the trip and ground. The dangers could be Namir, second behind this one at Bath, and Spoof Master, who has been racing off a low mark and could have gone on to score at Kempton LTO had Winston not lost his whip at the end. 4.00 – very competitive race here with all of those having competed at at least listed level (this is only a class 3 race). Caldra is the forecast favourite on Sporting Life and resumes off a 4 lb higher mark than when last seen at Newmarket last season. However, I think Welsh Emperor (2/1) could run a good race. It finished last season strongly, finishing second in a Group 1 race at Longchamp and then followed that effort up with a win at Leicester. It goes on the ground and has won four times previously in its career when returning from breaks of 60+ days.

Re: Warwick Tues 15th 20080415War143001.png Heaven and Hell 2.30 Warwick Won LTO and the booking of Richard Evans with his claimer should compensate for the penalty he's burden with. Would be no surprise if it won again. Early Price: 5/2 20080415War150004.png Kyllorien 3.00 Warwick B.Hills has a decent record around here (16%sr) and 3 of his last 10 starters have finished first. He's only bringing 2 to the track and it could pay to side with this one. Early Price: 11/4 20080415War153004.png Namir 3.30 Warwick Although we tipped up Digital LTO I dont think he will make this a double carring nearly an extra stone in weight. 2nd that day was Namir who was 2 3/4 L's behind and could reverse the placings off the same mark carring 2lb less. Early Price: 13/2 20080415War163004.png Cheshire Prince 4.30 Warwick Brisbourne is the leading trainer here and brings just 2 to the track, his first runner in the 2.30 will have a job to over turn the favourite but I think Cheshire Prince could run well at a price having finished off last season in great style winning beating Cat De Mille by 5L's. If he's fully wound up and race ready I think he could run well at a nice price. Early Price: 9/1

Re: Warwick Tues 15th 3.00 - PREMIER KRUG Dam 6F 2y/o fto winner, stable´s younger horses have made a good start to the season, T G McLaughlin is only here for one ride today, I would rather stick with a team in form here, whos youngsters are running well, than side with M Channons 6/4 favourite when he is 0-13 in 2008. Breeding suggests this will handle the conditions today, also should have a fair bit of speed. 4/1 Available with Bet 365 3.30 - TILLYS DREAM Has a good record over 5F on Soft Ground. Appears held by a couple of these, Highland Warrior is in poor form so would expect Tillys Dream to be ahead of that one, was also beat by Cerebus lto, howvere that was its first run for 3-4 months, will be spot on for that. G Bravery had a similar profile winner at Kempton last week, all looks good for a big run today. 7/1 Available with Betfred

Re: Warwick Tues 15th 4.00 Warwick - WESLH EMPEROR - >Betfair @ 2.50 Has won on seasonal debut on 3 occasions so clearly goes well after a winter's break. Ideally suited by soft ground, which he gets here, and the 7 furlong trip, which he gets here. Ended last season on a high with a victory at Leicester having been preceded by a 2nd in Group One company at Longchamp. Form that puts him with a little in hand of his three remaining rivals here 5.00 Warwick - TASHEBA - Sportingbet @ 4.00 Vastly improved effort on final start at 2 when encountering a little juice in the ground for the first time, when winning readily over 7f. 3 extra furlongs today shouldn't pose a problem and, should, suit, being out of a daughter of Lear Fan. Has been showing up well at home, and his stable could barely be in better form, even just normal improvement here could make the handicapper look a little foolish. Currently available at 3/1 with Sportingbet, which is larger than on Betfair, and most firms are going 5/2, with a couple offering just 2/1

Re: Warwick Tues 15th 3.30 Warwick I selected Spoof Master LTO and said the following about him:

“Spoof Master hasn't won for two years but hasn't really been given any chance by the handicapper in that time. He started going close this season when his rating dropped to 70. He has finished 2nd three times from 4 runs since then, including a decent 2nd to Saviles Deilight despite giving away 12lb and a defeat of rival Lord Of The Reigns. Spoof Master is 2lb better off too for beating Lord Of The Reigns. Although he acts here (great run a year ago in a class2 off 19lb higher) those two runs were at Southwell and there is worry he would be suited to a slower surface.” He ran well to finish 2nd and he may fair better tried on this softer ground. The two runs mentioned above were at Southwell and his form on soft ground on turf reads 1-2-3-2.

This is the first time he has ran off this mark on soft ground. His two runs off the mark at Southwell were as good as wins as both runs worked out really well. Beaten a SH in one with winners behind and then giving weight to Savile’s Delight.

Highland Warrior ran well on his seasonal debut in a race that has been working out fairly well. He won a better race than this last year off a higher mark and will enjoy these conditions.

He won twice on soft ground last season and his easy ground form is far superior to his form on quicker ground. Harvest Warrior 55% of stake 9/2 lads/hills/coral Spoof Master 45% of stake 6.8 betfair

Re: Warwick Tues 15th 5-00 Warwick - Natural Rhythm One to watch in the future :unsure FFS don't back it, as it has no chance today. Completely exposed, over the wrong distance on the wrong going. It's got one win and 4 places over 7 and 8 furlongs. It looks like it's running here solely to get its handicap mark down.

Re: Warwick Tues 15th Well done Bowles :), I had a fair wedge on Welsh Emperor and fancied it even more when Caldra got pulled out. I missed the commentary on the race by about 2 mins but they said they felt Welsh Emperor had been left undercooked, apparently it's tongue was hanging out and it was gasping for breath at the end of the race. I'd be interested to know if there were any comments from the trainer in todays Racing Post before the race as I didn't get one. It owes me money now so I hope I get compensation from it this year. Also just missed the race on Racing UK, will try catch it later.

Bit gutted with this one. Both can be seen as unlucky. Spoof Master didn't get the ideal run inside the last and was beaten a head. Harvest didn't get away and had to be urged along early. Was only a neck further back in 3rd. Think there is a race in them both in the near future. Nice one bowles with Dabbers :ok
