Long Term Glory.......

Following on from a few of the threads recently about making a certain % on each bet I have decided to have a go myself. I will be starting with a £50 bank and am looking to 'win' 0.5% (including commission) each bet with the scary stake recovery method (martingale!) if there is a losing bet. I am not looking for .5% every day, some days I won't get the chance to bet and others I am hoping for quite a few bets. I will be betting on odds around 1.20 - 1.35 which should give me 3 or 4 attempts before I bust. I am going to be betting on betmate, due to the 3% commission. Bet 1. Rangers V W.Bremen UNDER 3.5 goals 76p @ 1.33 to win 25p. Aldric

Re: Long Term Glory.......

Best of luck with this mate' date=' a very sensible approach, going for just 0.5% profit per bet. Just remember to stick to your rules and you should be just fine :ok:hope[/quote'] Cheers! I am usually anything but sensible, but I have realised that patience is the key and 0.5% each bet although starts off at pennies certainly adds up over time.... and I am HOPING this lasts a LONG time :ok

Re: Long Term Glory....... Nice one Aldi! ;) That was my problem I think in the past - I veered away from sticking to the required odds that the rules of the system required, and ended up chasing bets which I shouldn't have placed in the first place. My '100% Madness' thread shows how I started with a strict system in place, and through my new-found better money-management and discipline, manageged to double the bank initially (which was my main target), but also have transformed the £6.75 of 'odd change' into (so far) an extra £136. This part of the thread doesn't follow a system as such, but I added the selections just to help me stay disciplined in my placing of bets. I found it does help by posting selections on the forum, as it makes you think more about the selection before you actually put your money down. Keep focused fella :ok

Re: Long Term Glory....... Final day in the cricket tonight and England had a great night for a change meaning that any result is possible tonight.... The draw is still the likely outcome IMO. When England bat they will probably lose an early wicket and they won't want to lose the game so will continue their low scoring.... Will have to wait and see. 1st bet for today in the FA Cup:

908/03/20080.25BACK Man U to BEAT Portsmouth0.741.34

What a strange game, you could tell from early on that it wasn't going to be Man Utd's day..... Being Scottish I don't enjoy placing bet 10, but I just can't see any other result than England winning at Murryfield today :( Scotland just don't score any points, I was tempted to back Scotland +20.5 @ 1.31 but even that seems risky :\

Being a fellow Scot, I can only hope your wrong!! :notworthy But best of luck with the system anyway :clap
Well the good news is that Scotland won :clap:clap The bad news is my bet lost, should have gone with the +20 handicap... heindsight and all that. Im doing well at picking the shocks, so here goes for another:
1008/03/20080.99BACK England to BEAT Scotland3.671.279 - 15-3.67-£3.1646.84
1108/03/20084.67BACK Chelsea to BEAT Barnsley16.101.29
£29.77 will be the balance if Chelsea don't win.......
