Guppie Posted February 22, 2008 Share Posted February 22, 2008 Re: ** Poker Friday 22nd February ** Hi Dodger,this was my mistake,there was a tourney showing in the normal lobby which was in fact a private game:$,I have been up through the night in contact with the various sections and have finally got a game set up there unfortunately they have set it up as a $1 buy in with $0.50,i am back in contact trying to get this changed to $5 + $0.50 but if this is not able to be done appreciate that this would not make a good focus.They could not set it up as a strictly open tournament as such but the password is included in the game lobby. As an alternative have set up a $5+0.50 omaha hi game on ladbrokes with no password if anybody wishes to play that. A huge apology to the forum this was my idea for a change and I have not executed it very well,special apologies to gaf as he had the misplaced trust in me to organise this. Haven't played FullTilt for ages but have made a deposit. Can't find any Horse game at 20.00 (15.00 ET). A pre nominated game is focus no matter what - if it had less than 8 votes however, then the "variant" focus would be scrapped again pretty quickly..... Friday night is notoriously difficult to get numbers to fill a NLHE Tourney on this site.......a HORSE Tourney at $5.50 cost is obviously going to struggle to get the normal weekday amount of entrants! Playing on a site where only the Hendon Mob game takes place was maybe unwise as it's only the members that participate in $11 tournies that play there. I like the idea of playing the variant games as a Focus.....I enjoyed the Omaha a couple of weeks ago but in hindsight thought it was probably overpriced...we have to remember that plenty of folk on this forum have never played this form of poker before and $5 is just seen as a donation and could probably be used in another event where they feel they have a chance of hitting the money.. It was a password protected tourney and may have got double the number if the entry fee was minimal. Perhaps a $1 entry for any variant would get the numbers up? The site choice again was mine and was made by me in the mistaken belief that there was a standard horse tournament already in place(it was a private game)hence the choice.
