The Masters begins at Wembley Arena in the morning. Always a great event.

2 outrights for me. 5pts R.O'Sullivan to win The Masters 23/10 Boylesports Ronnie O'Sullivan comes into this event hot. He's won the last two tournaments - the Premier League and the UK Championship and has looked very fluent in doing so. By his own admission he absolutely loves this event so there won't be any shenanigans from the Rocket who'll be all out to win this. He arrives at Wembley as defending champion which will inspire him more as he bids for a 5th straight Masters final. Normally I'd go through the draw but why bother here? When his mind is on the job he can beat them all in the best of 11 frame matches and in his current form the Rocket looks to be the one to lift the Masters trophy next Sunday. 2pts M.Fu to win 4th Quarter 9/1 Stan James Marco Fu has been in good form all season. He won the Grand Prix and looked pretty good in the UK Championship until Mark Selby edged him out. Fu has spoken about how he is feeling confident and although he'd have to play either Ding or John Higgins in the quarter final he's still well worth a bet despite having to play a preliminary match. Fu beat Higgins at the Grand Prix so wouldn't fear him and in a quarter where the market revolves around Ding and Higgins, Fu could come through as the forgotten man.

Re: Snooker: SAGA Insurance Masters 2 for Sunday. Nothing for O'Sullivan vs Maguire though. That will be a cracker which I'll happily sit back and watch without a bet. 6-4/6-5 O'Sullivan for me there. 10pts S.Murphy -1.5 frames to beat A.Carter Evs Boylesports Shaun Murphy is playing good snooker at the minute. He did so all through 2007 and I expect that to continue in 2008. He's made the semi finals of the last two events losing to Stephen Maguire on both occasions. Ali Carter isn't playing the sort of snooker that Stephen Maguire is though. In fact he's only won 1 match at the last two tournaments so he's out of form and despite Carter being the local lad, I think Murphy's scoring power will see him win this 6-4 or better. 10pts B.Hawkins vs R.Day - Over 9 Frames Evs Bet365 These two players are fairly evenly matched. Both are pretty decent in among the balls and both can play safety quite well. Barry Hawkins is a pain to beat. He'll literally have to be scraped off the table but he's earned the right to be here having won the qualifying tournament. Ryan Day began the season really well with a final in Shanghai but like Carter he's only won 1 match in the last two tournaments so getting across the line could be tricky. It's got 6-4/6-5 written all over it and either score sees us through so I'll take the over 9 frames in the evening match.
