It is no surprise that 2 of these threads are run by Mowgli & RussP both of whom showed so much consistency during the year & believe it or not havent been mods for very long compared with others. We have a wealth of good tipsters on here as well as others who make excellent contributions & its a really good mix. We all seem to understand what makes each person tick & this comes from the fact we stick together (hunt as a pack to coin a phrase). Some people have come & gone during the year & maybe some would have been good had they stayed the course but if you cant abide by the rules, then there is no place for you as it just doesnt work. Here's to another successful year !!!!!! 2 people that i also want to mention are Billyhills & Carl who are here every day & make my life a little bit easier knowing they are around.

Re: Take a bow It's been a good year for ATR. I have to admit it went through a little lull after the systems section split, but it seems back to full strength now and in better shape than it has ever been.:clap As Bowles says, we have a wealth of tipsters now and there is always someone in form to follow with decent winners. I'd like to encourage people to post whatever they feel (provided it's in the rules!) as I think opinions help to make us all better. Look at Ginges table of odds, etc....people are now starting to us these. Ok, it's not everyones cup of tea (including mine) but it's a different way of looking at things. Where I do feel we are a little short is discussion threads, whether it be betting methods, memories, ideas or general racing news .... I'd like to see more here:ok I've learnt a hell of a lot this year from all of you so thank you. Finally, thanks to Bowles who has been here much longer than most of us and has kept ATR going before most of us even knew about PL. Also, thanks to BillyHills, whose support in this section is unsurpassed. Both are true gents:notworthy. Onwards and upwards, more winners to come in 2008:drums

Re: Take a bow All I can do is ... :notworthy Thanks you guys and all PL community for providing great tips :) I must admit I don't know a lot about horse racing, but I'll try to put my skill (probabilist programming) to the work :) Btw, what do you think about creating a thread with peoples opinion on the most important factors of winning at horse racing? (that would help me start to compile data, once I have the time...)

Re: Take a bow :clap Nice one Bowles and cheers for the mention:ok Nothing much more to add really just lets keep it going from strength to strength for the New Year. and all you lurkers, even if you have no tips, a post saying thanks or cheers wouldn't go amiss for the great tipsters we have on here. The mods in here do a great job of keeping a tight ship and hats off to them :ok

Re: Take a bow Excellent work done in the ATR guys, as Bowles points out some outstanding threads here. But for myself I would like to thank you all that contributed in the ATR, Some fantastic winners, at big prices, and some excellent returns, Of course we hit a few bad days here and there but I reckon if you went over every single selection at 1pt you would almost certainly be winning:clap:clap So i wish you all a Happy and Prosperous New Year.

Re: Take a bow Every year we get the odd tipster that comes and goes but we always try to hold onto the quality ones. The one thing that separated this forum from others was the requirement for reasoning, if you are backing a horse you should at least know why. Would you go and buy a car and part with your money if you didn't know what you were buying? I hope the lurkers will find the confidence to make some of their own selections, they could have a knack for finding winners and yet not know it, we don't bite so if you need any advice just ask and if you tip up a loser just move on to the next day and try find a winner. Onwards and upwards for 2008, thanks to all that have contributed (you all know who you are) and to Bowles and RussP for helping it all run smoothly plus BillyHills who helps out with many tables and competitions, Zulu (MIA) who is the spreadsheet king and Carl who often starts the daily threads. Thanks to all the newbies for adding their thoughts and selections, I hope you continue to post in 2008 and between us we'll hit the bookies for a few quid. :ok HAPPY NEW YEAR :ok
