AJ
You're playing a cash game, average enough table; no specific reads, 9 players You're on the big blind. It's folded round to the small blind who completes. Is there a circumstance where you wouldn't raise in this position ?
glceud
Re: Big Blind I'd never raise in ths postion in a cash game assuming deep stacks no matter what my cards were. I take it your supposed to and nobody let me in on the secret
happyhornet
Re: Big Blind Start off by raising with almost any two cards until the SB starts fighting back, then mix it up a little. I wouldn't continually raise though.
AJ
Re: Big Blind I think it'd be a +ev move. I think a raise of 3BB in this position would allow you to defend your own BB and pick up his. You have position on him at the flop anyway,
glceud
Re: Big Blind Would you not say it was more a tourney play than a cash table play?
Tom Hedonist
Re: Big Blind I've been experimenting with this recently. Raising to 4xBB, against any single limper from the BB. If they call, I fire again on the flop. So far its turned out to be a profitable play. I must admit, that as I play the 5c/10c tables, this situation doesn't arise too often. I'm sure sooner or later my oppo will hit a set or two pair on the flop and I'll be taken to the cleaners :cryIn the meantime, I view it as sort of a reverse of raising from the button. Jaded
Re: Big Blind I probably wouldn't if I had a premium hand - if I had AA/KK, certainly, I'd be looking for him to catch something on the flop and let him bet into me.

279135
Re: Big Blind in tournaments u will give a try for it, but at ring tables, it will costs u more, why do u risk 3xBB (+ more if calls) for SB? it doesnt make sense.
