Re: NBL Basketball - Round 2 (Sep 26th - 29th) Singapore Slingers vs Gold Coast Blaze This a match most expect Blaze to win. They started their new life in the NBL with two honorable losses against the Bullets and Kings, and should be expected to get the job done against the poor old Slingers. This should be one of the hardest trips in Basketball, but the way the Slingers are playing lately this could get very lopsided. Centrebet have given the Blaze a -4.5 line at $2.10 and this is excellent value, some of which ill be taking. Pick Blaze -4.5 at $2.10 - Centrebet

Re: NBL Basketball - Round 2 (Sep 26th - 29th) Townsville Crocodiles vs Sydney Kings I believe Sydney are capable of winning here at Townsville. The Crocs didnt get off to the greatest of starts, a 2 point win over the Pigs and a 24 point flogging to Cairns. Kings showed good signs over new boys the Blaze and Mark Worthington is scoring points, Sav will be very dangerous here. I think the $2.80 on offer for the Kings to win Under 10.5 is great value. Pick Kings Under 10.5 at $2.80 - Centrebet

Dont be shocked odamcha this is mr 84% were talking about. Ads25 great to see u back here tipping again for this 2007/2008 season! Great win by sydney tönight, u can just never count them out. I remember a game last year vs wollongong where they were down by 26 i think at half time and came back to win. I have now nicknamed them the "COMEBACK KINGS"

Re: NBL Basketball - Round 2 (Sep 26th - 29th) Fantastic result that. Watched the game live on Foxtel and really it was poor quality. Townsville lead by as much as 13 points in the 2nd quarter and were dominating everything. But Sydney hit back hard in the second half to get the bet up. Was brilliant value at $2.80 and signs are good for another good year. Hopefully the Blaze can get the job done tonight in Singapore. Game is live now but its going to be near impossible to get live results for this with the NBL live scoring feature still not working. Will check tomorrow morning. Well done Kings! :cheers

Re: NBL Basketball - Round 2 (Sep 26th - 29th) Blaze defeat Slinger 99-93 so they cover the line to get the bet up at $2.10 :dude As for the NBL site, they are revamping it i think mate, live scoring feature just says 'Coming soon..' so whenever soon is will be anyones guess. Bloody annoying not being able to get live scores though :wall

Pinnacle did not offer -4.5 for this one. That's why I took -2.5! :nana Anyway, cheers mate once again! :clap

Re: NBL Basketball - Round 2 (Sep 26th - 29th) Wollongong Hawks vs Brisbane Bullets Most would believe this will be quite a one sided affair. Its last years premiers who are expected to go close to repeating that feat this year, up against the Hawks who are expecting to finish at the bottom of the table after losing the majority of their top line players and coach over the off season. Im confident Brisbane will win and i believe they should cover the line of -6.5 which is paying $1.90. Pick Brisbane Bullets Win at $1.90 - Centrebet

Re: NBL Basketball - Round 2 (Sep 26th - 29th) Adelaide 36ers vs Melbourne Tigers Tigers are expected to go close to the title this season themselves, most bookmakers have installed them as favourites and its understandable considering they have a frontline of Chris Anstey and Martin Muursepp. These guys are brilliant together and the Tigers have great depth. But im a little worried about Adelaide here, they recruited very well over the off season bringing in guys like Adam Ballinger, Brad Davidson and Axel Dench, and with Brett Maher and Dave Cooper firing at the moment they could provide Melbourne with some troubles. Im confident Melbourne can win the match, but im not going to bet large on it because its too early in the season and both teams could potentially win this. One thing i am more than confident of though is that it will be a high scoring affair. Centrebet have the game line at 206.5 points and in 4 of the past 5 meetings between these two sides, the total has gone beyond 206. I'll also suggest taking Melbourne to win Under 10.5 at odds $2.65 but only with small stakes. Pick Match Total Over 206.5 at $1.90 - Centrebet Pick Melbourne Under 10.5 at $2.65 - Centrebet

Re: NBL Basketball - Round 2 (Sep 26th - 29th)

Hi Ads25, How do you see the handicap Brisbane Bullets to win -6.5 @1.86, because the Bullets win is @1.28 Thx !
I think Bullets line is at -9.5 at $2.10 which all logic suggests will happen, but i just get the feeling the Wollongong Hawks may surprise many in this match. Taking them at -9.5 is great value at $2.10 because they are expected to press for the Title yet again this year, while the Hawks are expected to finish last. But the Hawks showed a few positive signs last week which leads me to be cautious with them this week. Plus its still only early in the new season. Bullets will win though, im confident there :ok

Re: NBL Basketball - Round 2 (Sep 26th - 29th) Haven't seen much of the Hawks but Brisbane's second half against the Blaze was very good. A team who should finish above the Hawks at season's end. Bruton was throwing some top assists getting everyone involved, Ebe was on fire after the break. I think they can continue with this against an opposition who can probably only play 2 decent quarters against them. Brisbane have scorers everywhere and can really pick up their defence when required. I like the Bullets 11+ at $2.70.

Re: NBL Basketball - Round 2 (Sep 26th - 29th)

Ads do you know why there has been such a big shift in the Hawks-Bullets line? It opened up in lot of books at -9.5 for the Bullets and now it is -5.5 :eek:eek Surely someone must be out?
Not sure, im actually wondering that myself. As far as im aware they are fielding a full strength squad, but ill keep an eye out for any news during the day and post something as soon as i hear it. If they are playing at full strength then get all over that line, its crazy :loon

Re: NBL Basketball - Round 2 (Sep 26th - 29th) Gentlemen, got this off the NBL website - the China trip and tiredness may be behind it? ------------------- Brisbane coach Joey Wright says the defending champion cannot use tiredness as an excuse despite the prospect of playing its fifth game in 10 days against the winless Hawks on Friday night. The Bullets knew a hectic early season schedule would result when they took the unprecedented step of arranging a three-match mini-series against the Chinese national team between rounds one and two of the new HUMMER NBL season. The groundbreaking move has paid dividends over the past week with Brisbane shocking fanatical locals with a last-gasp one-point win in Game One as well as cultivating crucial marketing links and blooding a handful of up-and-coming players. But Wright conceded he remained a little concerned how his championship-winning squad would pull up after a hectic travel schedule even though the bulk of the side's regulars were handed plenty of rest on tour. "Some of the main guys didn't play a lot over in China but just the whole trip in itself was pretty tedious," he said. After beating the Blaze in their season opener last Wednesday, the Bullets have played in three different cities in China's southern Guangdong Province before travelling throughout the day to arrive back in Sydney on Tuesday night. Wright said the side would need a bright opening to confirm it was mentally ready to keep the heat on the pacesetting Tigers, Taipans and Kings. Brisbane started slowly in the opening round before coming from behind to beat the Gold Coast 115-105. "We need to know that we're OK. If we get off to a poor start the mindset might be that we're a little flat," he said. "But I don't think we'll tire as the game goes on." "Typically as a club we get a little stronger because we're able to rest a lot of guys during the game and let them finish strong." It was no surprise that Wright pinpointed Hawks guard Kavossy Franklin as the player the Bullets needed to keep close tabs on. Franklin has twice led his side's scoring tally this season - against the 36ers and the Tigers - with the Bullets coach again expecting him to play 45-plus minutes. "Kavossy is one of those players that individually can take over a game so we're definitely going to have to watch him and try to slow him up a little bit," said Wright. "They've got some weapons there but we've got to make sure we control Kavossy first and then slow up those other weapons." Brisbane has no injuries worries with captain Sam Mackinnon and Dillon Boucher declared fit to play after minor concerns.
