Darts: World Darts Trophy

The World Darts Trophy begins in Utrecht on Friday night. It's a PDC/BDO mixed event like the IDL at the start of the year. Phil Taylor is the defending champion having won 7-2 against Martin Adams in the final last year.

I'll go for 3 small outrights. 1pt ew G.Anderson to win World Darts Trophy 25/1 Bet365 I believe Gary Anderson is one of the better players playing darts today in either code. If he moved over to the PDC I've no doubt Anderson would be winning titles. There was a doubt over whether he could do it in the majors but those doubts disappeared earlier in the year when the Scot won the IDL. On his day he'll trouble anybody and at 25/1 he's big considering the big 2 don't await him until the semi finals onwards. 1pt ew M.Webster to win World Darts Trophy 50/1 Bet365 Mark Webster was quite brilliant in the IDL. In that event he smacked Taylor in the opening game and never really looked back from there. He was unlucky to lose the final to Anderson but very few would've stayed with the Scot that night. Webster has now established himself on the BDO circuit and is another who would do fine in the PDC. 50/1 is huge is Webster takes his A game to Holland and is well worth an ew bet. 1pt R.Baxter to win World Darts Trophy 125/1 VC Ronnie Baxter showed signs that he could just be finding a bit of form at long last at the World Matchplay last month. His back problems are well documented but he seems to have found a way of dealing with those and if he's on form, with his high speed game, he can be a danger for anyone. At his best, Baxter is still one of the best on the PDC circuit and for that reason 125/1 is massive and well worth a small ew punt.
