Re: A-League Round 1 - Queensland vs Adelaide (Sat 25th Aug) HT: Queensland Roar 1 - 1 Adelaide United 8m Burns (AU) 44m Mckay (QR) Yellow Card: (QR) Marcinho, Grossman (AU) Constanzo, Valkanis, Cassio Queensland completely dominated that first half and could easily have kicked 5 goals. They hit the post once, hit the crossbar once, had a free kick that was a goal disallowed, and missed a number of easy chances. Adelaide have only had a couple of shots, while the Roar have had more shots than a rabid dog. Home side's defence looks very strong with Ognenovski, Moore and Tiatto. Great first half by the Roar and they are veru unlucky not to be multiple goals in front, but you have to take your chances.

Re: A-League Round 1 - Queensland vs Adelaide (Sat 25th Aug) 2nd Half: Queensland Roar 1 - 2 Adelaide United Cracking cross ends up on Bruce Djite's head and a second goal for Adelaide. The away side has started the 2nd half well. The ball went straight down the other end where McKay put heinaldo through for what should have been an easy equaliser but he missed the target. Adelaide taking their chances while Queensland are not.

Re: A-League Round 1 - Queensland vs Adelaide (Sat 25th Aug) Had a punt on QR following you guys!:ok Been listening on the match and it has been a while since I have heard such an exiting match on radio. Maybe it is because of good commentators and a big audience but still when I feel my hands are getting sweaty only by listening to it there is something extra with it... Looking forward to the 2nd half with joy crossing my fingers!:hope

Re: A-League Round 1 - Queensland vs Adelaide (Sat 25th Aug) Craig Moore sent off for Queensland after he tackled Nathan Burns with his studs showing, easy decision for the referee but Moore went ape droppings. All going a little bit pear shaped for Queensland now as they are forced to get back into the match with 10 players. Adelaide played a very good second half but the home side should have had the game sewn up in the first half. Credit to Adelaide for taking their chances with some great finishing.

Re: A-League Round 1 - Queensland vs Adelaide (Sat 25th Aug) FT: Queensland Roar 2 - 2 Adelaide United 8m Burns (AU) 44m Mckay (QR) 47m Djite (AU) 76m Ognenovski (QR) Yellow card: (QR) Marcinho, Grossman, Moore (AU) Constanzo, Valkanis, Cassio, Sulley Red Card: (QR) Moore Top class game by two sides who should figure prominently in finals contention this season. Queensland were clearly the better side and should have won quite convincingly except for poor finishing in front of goal. Adelaide showed in the second half that it is going to be a very good side and with Burns and Djite up front they are going to be a dynamic forward duo. Queensland Roar had good performers down back in Tiatto and Ogenovski, while Hienaldo was very good up front. Matt Mckay was an influentio player in the midfield for Queensland too.

Re: A-League Round 1 - Queensland vs Adelaide (Sat 25th Aug)

I think i like Queensland here. Adelaide have a few gaps in their team now with the departures of stars such as Greg Owens, Ross Aloisi, Matthew Kemp, Carl Veart and Fernando Rech. However they have included Paul Agostino, Kristian Sarkies, and perhaps their biggest inclusion is Brazilian Cassio who will sure to be a livewire. Queensland have been active in the off season too with the inclusion of former Socceroo players Craig Moore and Danny Tiatto. These are big inclusions, plus Queensland have a Brazilian ace of their own in Marcinho who has the potential to be a superstar. I have to admit i favour Queensland slightly, but Adelaide cant be written off either and Queensland record against Adelaide is poor. I think the best option here is to take the draw at $3.30 and im sure it will be a fast paced and exciting clash. Pick DRAW at $3.30 - Centrebet :nana:nana:nana
Good work tipping the draw Ads and was always on the cards I guess. I took a draw saver bet but I feel that I was robbed of a win by Queensland's inability to score goals when they should have. The Roar should have had 4 before half time, but I guess that's football for you, and good effort by Adelaide to get a point in the end.

Sorry we couldn't get Queensland home for you Kimera, it wasn't for want of trying :dude Queensland Roar should have won the game easily but they didn't take their chances, of which they had plenty. It was an exciting game and both sides are going to be up there this season.

Re: A-League Round 1 - Queensland vs Adelaide (Sat 25th Aug) 10-man Roar steal draw Queensland Roar has salvaged a 2-2 draw with Adelaide United at Suncorp Stadium despite captain Craig Moore being sent off on his Hyundai A-League debut. Referee Ben Williams dismissed Moore for two bookable offences midway through the second-half but eight minutes later Sasa Ognenovski headed a deserved second equaliser for the 10-man Queenslanders. The Roar central defender had hit the post with another header in the first-half and also had a direct free-kick chalked off moments after Matt McKay had blasted Queensland level from 25 yards on the stroke of half-time. Roar coach Frank Farina said he was happy with the endeavour of his side after Moore's send-off. Australian under-23s striking duo Nathan Burns and Bruce Djite showed no signs of fatigue despite only returning from playing against Iraq in an Olympic qualifier 36 hours before kick-off with a goal apiece for Adelaide which always threatened on the break. Former Socceroos defender Danny Tiatto was outstanding at left-back for the Roar while Paul Agostino made his league bow from the bench on the hour mark. Farina preferred Ante Milicic to Simon Lynch in attack, but it was the twin Brazilian threat of Marcinho and Reinaldo which caught the eye over the first 45 minutes with both spurning great chances to score. Marcinho headed wide from a McKay free-kick and an unmarked Reinaldo blasted over from six yards with the goal at his mercy after Ognenovski's header had rebounded off the upright. By that time, Burns had already pounced after the Roar backline failed to clear its lines to give Adelaide an early lead, but it was all Queensland with Reds goalkeeper Robbie Bajic saving bravely at McKay's feet and Massimo Murdocca's cross-cum-shot crashing off the bar. McKay, the club's player-of-the-year last season, then levelled the scores with a long range strike which took a slight deflection off Adelaide captain Michael Valkanis before Ognenovski's direct free-kick was disallowed after Milicic illegally blocked off the Adelaide wall. The visitors were back ahead two minutes after the restart when Burns found Cassio wide on the left and Djite beat the challenge of Ognenovski before wrong-footing Roar 'keeper Liam Reddy with a diving header from the Brazilian's centre. Reinaldo should have replied immediately but blasted wide after a pinpoint McKay through ball before Djite again shrugged off the attentions of Ognenovski with Reddy saving. Agostino replaced Richie Alagich for his Hyundai A-League debut on 60 minutes and fired a header wide soon after his arrival. By then Queensland had been reduced to 10 men when Moore clashed with Burns for the second time in five minutes and received his second yellow card. But despite its numerical disadvantage, the Roar drew level for a second time when Ognenovski found acres of space in Adelaide's six-yard box to plant McKay's corner past a stranded Bajic. Vice-captain Travis Dodd could have sealed all three points deep into injury time but failed to connect with an outswinging corner.
