Re: Tennis - 5th-12th Strength 10/10 - Ancic to beat Niemeyer - 1.31 @ Betfair This is Mario Ancic's 1st appearance for a while and I think he will be eager to make a good comeback. Due to a virus? I think, he has has to missed a major part of the season, and he has dropped down to a lowely 39th in the world. He will be eager and willing to make a winning and comfortable comeback against a Canadian Wildcard in Montreal. He should progress easily here and look forward to a comeback tournament where he can hit the ground running and continue the season from a fresh. H2H 0:0 Strength 8/10 - Dancevic to beat Del Potro - 2.10 @ Ladbrokes This is a tough match to call, but I think that Dancevic has been in great form and can beat a good player in Del Potro. Dancevic is Canadian so will relish the chance of playing infront of a home crowd in Montreal. Del Potro is a really good prospect, but I will side with Dancevic, who is in good form and was the first canadian for around 15 years to get to an ATP final last month in Indianapolis. On his way to the final there, Dancevic actually beat Del Potro, so this is another reason I think that the value here is good. H2H 1:0 in favour of Dancevic. Strenght 10/10 - Karlovic to beat Mirnyi - 1.44 @ Bet365 Karlovic has been in good form recently, compared to Mirnyi who.. well has not been in good form? Karlovic has just reached the semis of the Legg Mason classic and I think that his serve will make him a hard oppent to face, especially when you are not in form, as Miriyni, who has been knocked out in the 1st round of both Kitzbuhel and Stuttgart on the clay last month, is. H2H 2:1 in favour of Karlovic. Strenght 8/10 - Safin to beat Sodeling - 2.26 @ Betfair This is a big price for a player who has won Grand-Slams in the modern era of the game and a player who actually has a chance of beating anyone on his day. Soderling is no slouch, but I cannot see why he is actually the favourite here? Both players are ranked in the 20's and I think it will be a good match, but ultimatly, I think that Safin will finally prevail. H2H 1:0 in favour of Safin. Strenght 5/10 - Hrbaty to beat Kohlscreiber - 4.00 @ Bet365 This is a massive price considering both players can playing solid and classy tennis on there day. Hrbaty is an outsider, but he is definatly overpriced here and I think he definatly has a chance, well, more of a chance then the bookies are giving him. Both mid 30's in the rankings, so it will be another close match. Hrbaty is not in any form at all, but niether is Kohlscreiber really, so I think it will be down to who wants it more on the day and who finds there form here in Montreal. H2H 2:1 in favour of Hrbaty Strenght 10/10 - Murray to beat Ginepri - 1.61 @ Betfred Its the long awaited return of Mr Murray, to the delight of all British fans, including me. He is a great player and is destined for big things, hopefully this years title :tongue2. I am obviously very biased here, but I think that if his wrist holds up then this will be justified as he can sweep aside Ginepri who is having a tough year and is struggling to have a impact on the tour like he has done in recent years. H2H is 2:0 in favour of Murray. Strenght 5/10 - Verdasco to beat Chela - 2.10 @ Ladbrokes This is another close match up, with probably Verdasco being in the slightly better form. They have both played on the clay since Wimbledon and have both done well. I think this will come down to who will adapt better to the change over to hard courts, and I think this could be either, so the outsiders price of Verdasco is unjustified, and should be taken. H2H 3:2 to Chela, all matches on clay. Strenght 5/10 - Moya to beat Baghdatis - 2.50 @ Ladbrokes Moya is very much in form and showed that when he took the title in Umag. This is not the clay, but he is a useful player on hard courts also, so I think he is very overpriced here. Baghdatis is another great player and is ranked only 1 place below Moya in the rankings. Moya can easily match and even beat as Bagdahtis as I have predicted. A clash of two great players in the game. H2H 1:1, Moya has beaten Bagdahtis on the hard courts. ^^^^^ These are just the odds I could just get my hands on, there may be some more I see.

Re: Tennis - 5th-12th Some top picks there Lucky and a good write-ups also. A big roughie I fancy is Wayne Odesnik over Ivan Ljubicic. Ljubicic has no been playing recently, Odesnik on the other hand has been in good form on hardcourts, last week playing very well beating Del Potro and losing in three tie break sets to the eventual runner up, Isner. The price for Odesnik is crazy @ 4.10

Re: Tennis - 5th-12th

Some top picks there Lucky and a good write-ups also.
Thanks, I agree with you about Odesnik, Ljubicic has been suffering some surprising defeats this year, so its possible. Strength 10/10 - Almagro to beat Russell - 2.32 @ Betfair Almagro is a good clay court player and plays most of his tennis on caly, but can beat Russell here on the hard courts. Although he may not produce many good results on this surface, I think he is the better player and should be able to beat Rusell, no matter what the surface and it just depends on how he plays on the day. I do not rate Russell as a good player, or someone who can do well against the top players. He started off the year playing well, but in recent months has been getting knocked out 1st round regularly, except for in Washington where he beat Wesley Whitehouse. Hopefully Almagro will have a good hard court season by starting it off well here against Russell. H2H is 0:0 Strength 10/10 - Gonzalez to beat Stepanek - 2.04 @ Betfair I think that even though Stepanek has been in good form, I think it is wrong that he could be at a lower price than Gonzalez, so 2.04 is very generous and should be taken A.S.A.P. Gonzalez had a little hiccup last tournament where lost to Fleishman in the 1st round, but besides that he has been having a good year, where he reached the final of the Australian Open in the early part, showing he is a major threat to anyone he plays. He is currently ranked number 6 in the world and is someone who everyone will be hoping not to meet in the earlier rounds. As for Stepanek, I think that he has started to find some much needed form and is a solid player. Ranked 60th in the world he is currently clawing his way furthur up the ranking, trying to claim back a top 20 ranking which he had at the start of the year. But, as Gonzalez is the better player and is overpriced, I think that he should be taken. H2H 1:1, with Stepanek beating Gonzalez at Roland Garros, but I think this will be insignificent and Gonzakez will go onto win.

EventPennetta - Brengle
SelectionBrengle
Strength10/10
Date06/08/2007
Bookmaker/PriceStan James @ 3.50 (Back)
ReasoningPennetta is not in poor form for some time now.She is not playing her best tennis and she is going down in the rankings. Now she must adjust her game to hard courts as she was playing mainly on clay lately. And this change wouldn't be easy as Flavia has 0-5 record on hard this year.Last year she lost here at LA against young Mattek in the 1st round. This year can be similar as she is playing young Brengle from USA.

ReasoningWay too high odds for me.Kerber is good on hard and I don't believe that Bondarenko should be such a strong favourite here.H2H is 1:0 for Bondarenko but it was tough 3 set match played on hard. With a bit of luck Kerber can take this one.

Reasoning50/50 game here so I will simply go with the odds. Both players with great serve.H2H is 1:0 for dancevic. And it seems that Dancevic is in some kind of uptrend and Del Potro is not in great form at the moment.

EventMathieu - Canas
SelectionMathieu

Bookmaker/Price>Betfair @ 2.28 (Back)
ReasoningThis should be interesting.Mathieu who is in great form should make a lot of trouble to Canas who seems to be not that good as at the beginning of the season.I watched him not so long ago against Moya and he was just hopeless against Spaniard.Mathieu has all it takes to win this one.

EventAlmagro - Russell
SelectionAlmagro
Strength10/10
Date06/08/2007
Bookmaker/Price>Betfair @ 2.34 (Back)
ReasoningMaybe Almagro is not that great player when it comes to playi on hard but let's look against who he is playing here.Russell is not in great shape either and he is mainly losing in the first rounds. This year is not good for him for sure. And really I don't know why he is favourite here.He is not great player for sure.He is rather average and Almagro has great chances to take a win here.

EventGrosjean - Youzhny
SelectionGrosjean

Bookmaker/Price>Betfair @ 2.46 (Back)
ReasoningI'm taking this bet mainly because great H2H which Grosjean has against Youzhny.H2H is 4:0 and 9:0 in sets.Youzhny simply don't know how to play against Grosjean. He is in rather average form too and I don't know if his injury is fully healed. So I will go with French man here.

Re: Tennis - 5th-12th Grr, Russell has just defeated Almagro in 3. He was cruising the 1st, by breaking him a few times and then, when it mattered, Russell got the vital breaks fo serve. But, better news for me as Hrbaty takes the 1st against Kohlscreiber. Woooo.

ReasoningToo high odds from Pinnacle here.Kirilenko is in top form at the moment.Last week he won over Safarova and Jankovic and made it to the 1/4 of San Diego.Bartoli after great mid-season and amazing results seems to be a little bit tired now and she is not making great results. Her record on hard this year is also rather poor 6-8.I believe that Kirilenko has more chances to win this than the odds are suggesting and I will try it.

Re: Tennis - 5th-12th Not really too much easy matches, but there is one which stands out as being overpriced and there are a few others in this second round which I would go for. Strength 10/10 - Ancic To beat Mathieu - 2.62 @ Ladbrokes Ancic, is on his way back from a long lay off and this could be the reason why he is priced this high against Mathieu. Ancic was ranked inside the top 10 before he got injured, so he is definatly a more than capable player. There may be doubts about his match fitness and how he will handle a few games back to back, but I am sure that he is fit enough if he has entered the competition in the 1st place. Mathieu is probably in better shape and better form coming into the championships though, but I fancy that Ancic will be good enough to beat him and he will start to pick up where he left off 6 months ago. It will be a close match, but this price is too big to ignore. H2H is 1:0 in favour of Ancic. Strength 10/10 - Davydenko to beat Niemienen 1.83 @ Betfair (Until he wins the first set and then his price will rise :rollin ) Davydenko has got a little bit to prove in this tournament and I think his 'injury' will hold up and he will be able to put in some good performances towards the end of the year. Niemienen is a talented player, but I think that a focused Davydenko who will be wanting to prove a few people wrong about the recent betting scandle will win through and start to show the form that has made him a top 10 player. H2H is 2:1 in favour of Niemienen Strength 10/10 - Dancevic To beat Odesnik - 1.53 @ Totesport Both players are coming off a good result, but I think that Dancevic is on more of an uptrend. He has had some recent sucess and is accustome to the conditions so will not be caught out, like Ljubicic was by Odesnik in the 1st round. Dancevic is also in front of a home crowd who will be cheering him on. I think this will be an added incentive for him and that he will win through fairly easily. H2H is 1:0 in favour of Dancevic. Stregth 10/10 - Hewitt to beat Blake - 1.74 @ Betdaq I think that this is going to be another win for a rejuvenated Hewitt who battles through the harder matches he has. Blake on the other hand bails out in harder matches against better opponents and I think he is still has more to do to become consistent. One week he can play amazing and the next not turn up (usually against the better player e.g Hewitt). Blake has played more tennis on hard courts since Wimbledon, but I don't see this being a problem, and I think Hewitt will proceed far in the tournament. H2H 7:1 in favour of Hewiit, also suggests that this is a win for Hewitt. Not really too many other bets with value. Bankers would be, Murray, Federer etc, but would be too long to write these write ups.

Re: Tennis - 5th-12th Strength 10/10 - Gasquet to beat Verdasco - 1.40 @ Expekt These two players are both well known and well respected in Tennis. Verdasco is mainly known as a clay court speacialist, but is handy on any surface, but in this instance I feel that the overwhealming favourite, Gasquet, should be able to easily prevail and show why he has recently risen to career high rankings. Even though Verdasco is seen as mainly a clay court specialist, Gasquet has beaten him 3 times on this surface, so should have no problem dispatching him on the hard courts. I think Gasquet has the measure of Verdasco and can go on to do well in this tournament once again. H2H 4:0 in favour of Gasquet

Re: Tennis - 5th-12th Reckon Nadal is gonna struggle this week. Vastly overrated on hard. Seems to sutrggle alot on this surface, Malisse, Gonzalez, Youzny, Djovicic beat him this year on surface I think Marat Safin could test him proper, and Ancic is tough possible next round draw. Tip: Lay Nadal until he gets beat this week, he WILL NOT make final.

Youzhny is a similar player so this match will be tight and I am thinking that Davydenko will be the more focused to win and come through the match. There has recently been alot written about Davydenko, injuries and betting scandles, but if he can stay on court and there are no underhand tactics, then he is definatly a contender for this match and mabey even the title. ReasoningMathieu is in the form of his life and looks as though he can beat any player he is drawn against. Whereas this is Nadal's 1st tournament on hard courts since Wimbledon and I think that he may not yet be comfortable on the surface and Mathieu will have every chance of winning IMO. Everyone will be expecting another Nadal/Federer tournament winner, but I think that there are more challengers to the title this year as the gap is closing on the top 2. H2H is 5:0 in Nadals favour, but Mathieu is no mug and is severly over priced.

He is majorly confident and is coming into the tournament in decent form. David Nalbandian is also a good player, but at the moment I think he is not showing such good form which he has done in recent years and it is only a matter of time before he gets knocked out in this tournament. Re: Tennis - 5th-12th Djokovic - Nadal, Back Djokovic @2.20 Betfair 6/10 I see 3 Novak and 2 Rafas match on this turnament. Djokovic played with Kifer, Nalbandian and with Andy Rodick yesterday. In all those maches, Djokovic show exelent tactical play and especially what I liked the most, are services. Djokovic use 3 or 4 different type of services (I like the most his kick servis) and opponent never know whats coming. That why he had two times more aces than Rodick, who is well known by his service. And in the end claim easy 2-0 win. Against Nalbandian, in the first set, he has 100% pts from first and 100% pts on second services He won all points on his serve :loon. And more, he make many less unforced errors than before. On the other sid Rapha Nadal, lost first game in his last two maches with Dancevic and P.H. Mathieu and manage to come back from behind and win 2-1 at the end. This is not ofcourse clay, but this surface is not too much faster than clay, so Rapha is doing well but not as he can. Djokovic is in exelent form, and playing on his favorite surface where he beat Nadal early this year. I think that odds are set wrong, at least they should be even. Anyway, there is value on Djokovic. GL!:hope
