Morocco - Mali prices

Recommended Posts

Re: Morocco - Mali prices Yup, posted at the same time so moving it here. Can't find any price on the net as yet, but one of my local books has just priced up the "to qualify" market for Wednesday's semis and this one really catches my eye Mali to qualify @ 2.25 In fact, Morocco are made quite big favourites in this one. They earned me quite a lot for laying goals from the 80th minute further on yesterday, but I am not going to be loyal as they are clearly the weakest team in the semis and were very lucky even to get that far. Does anybody have any crucial info to put me off?

morocco - mali Interesting reading...I like to read about these games. This is a close one, semi-final after all. However I'm going to throw my hat in here and say Morocco are going to win this match. They have played excellent football to get here - remember they absolutely took Nigeria apart in the first match. They have also showed great composure in what was an incredibly charged atmosphere to beat Algeria in the quarters. They have a good mix of young players alongside experienced ones too. Add to that the defence is one of the tightest in Africa - very difficult to score against. What about Mali? Of course they have played very creative football, and are a nice team to watch. They have had a great team for a few years now - at U17 level they were fantastic a few years back. They always create a few chances - but untested so far against a really solid defence. They're certainly not as good defensively as Morocco and I think they'll have difficulty keeping them out. In fact at times against Guineau, the defence looked incredibly weak. Morocco have skill going forward and I pick them to score against Mali. I'd also never back against a North African team playing in North Africa - so many 'ref' stories!! My verdict - 1:0 Morocco What do you think?

morocco - mali Talking of false favourites - I think you have to consider the fact that most punters in England seem to rate Kanoute as some kind of God! Mali were great value at 28-1 at the start of the tournament to win it, but they were fortunate in the quarters to beat Guinea (another great attacking side, not known for defence). Morocco qualified easily from the 'group of death' and were justifiably rated at much lower odds than Mali at the start of the tournament - they didn't even concede one goal during the pre-qualification matches! I'm going to stick with Morocco on the strength that I feel the final is going to be between two North African teams - don't even try to get me started on why I #know# that Tunisia '2010' will get the better of Nigeria!! Talk me out of my bet on Morocco please! - I'm interested in all opinions...

Morocco - Mali prices mr onemore-- All in all, we can agree we differ. What we will see come Wednesday is - Mali, won the QF thanks to a 90th minute goal, and Morocco, well, they well one down going into injury time and equalised only just two minutes from time + injury time (5 mins). They had arguably the better of play, but somehow couldn't ship any past the opposing goalie. Kanoute is far from being a god, but as far as I could see the attack of Mali is at least prolific in front of goal. I actually don't care too much as Mali and the draw in Moroccan QF earned me enough to survive this lovely cup without suffering a loss (not meant as after-eventing, particularly my picks of Mali are below and the draw pick was pure maths just after the other QF match of the day finished), but still think 2.25 on Mali to qualify is good value. I never believed Mali to win the whole thing, just judging by what I have seen so far. Anyway, I also stated the books may know something. If you are "in the know" as well and have sound reasons to back Morocco and Tunisia to qualify, than it's another story. The above reasoning, though, will make me just reduce the strength of my bet.;)

morocco - mali How I wish I was 'in the know'!!!! This is a great tournament - wide open and I think you can make a case for all four to win it. No clear favourites to me - looking forward to the games. Best of luck - who knows!!!

Morocco - Mali prices Yeah, we'll see. Can agree Tunisia will probably be pushed, but stand by my original pick of Mali to make it to the finals. They are surely the liveliest outfit and even if they don't make it, they'll most probably give you a good run for your money (2.10 to qualify @ superOdds - UK clone of OZ Sportodds)
