Pontefract 2/7

Recommended Posts

2.15 - GREAT VIEW - This 8 y-old gelding has won mainly over 14f but has scored twice at Mondays 10f . It has won on ground ranging from G/FM to HEAVY so the forecast Soft shouldn't be a problem. This race is a Ladies Handicap and GREAT VIEW has been successful in 2 of the 6 events it has contested. The horse has won with tomorrow's jockey[ Miss L ELLISON ] on board 3 times, a very strong stat in these events , imo. After it's last victory [ 6 runs ago ] it has dropped from a rating of 80 down to 70 [ won off 72 ] and it's first 3 runs this season were Class 4 events . Class 5 lto and no real excuses for it finishing 5th of 15 but i'm hoping the female touch and easy going will bring it back to winning ways.

Re: Pontefract 2/7 14.15 Pontefract – Kylkenny (WIN) 7.0 @ Paddypower Despite finishing just outside the places in its last two races, the handicappers have been very kind. Has been mainly running 1m4f or 1m3f this season, and its races notes report it weakening towards the last couple of furlongs…. Hopefully the shorter trip should suit this time out. Hard to pick any potential winners here, although Gardasee and Zabeel tower will be well fancied, I reckon Kylkenny has as good a chance as any.

14.45 Pontefract – Nice to know (WIN) 5.0 @ Paddypower From its two runs so far this season, this horse has just missed out on the places on both occasions. This afternoon it drops down a class and should have a great chance of winning a fairly unimpressive group 5 handicap.

14.45 Pontefract – Keisha Kayleigh (E/W) 9.0 @ Paddypower Winner last time out in a similar class race and escapes with a modest handicap. Has only run twice this year so far, looking very strong last time out. If the horse can continue its early form, it’ll have a great chance of finishing in and around the places.

15.15 Pontefract – Easy Target (WIN) 5.0 @ Paddypower Won its maiden in a tough race at Nottingham, staying on well under a lot of pressure. Big step up in class this afternoon, and there are a number of horses with a big claim this afternoon. However none of the other runners particularly impress me and I’m backing Easy target to at least come to following up its victory last month.

15.45 Pontefract - Aye Aye Definitely (WIN) 5.0 @ Paddypower Raced twice in two days in Ayr last month, recording a 2nd and 4th. The 2nd came in the first race over 6f, which presumably is the preferred trip. Steps up in class this afternoon, however the horse is favourably handicapped. 16.15 Pontefract - Ja Mayford (E/W) 6.5 @ Paddypower Has shown very little until recording an excellent 2nd place finish last time out, here in Pontefract on good to soft ground. If the horse can reproduce that form today its got a good chance of winning as it takes a drop in class here. The main worry here is that last time out was a flash in the pan... 17.15 Pontefract - Ming Vase (E/W) 15.0 @ Paddypower Really poor looking group 5 race, where it has been a struggle to find anything whatsoever! Ming vase has shown just as much form as any of the other runner lately, but escapes with tiny handicap, which should provide a great opportunity for it to get involved at the business end this afternoon. Interestingly over its last two runs, which have been among its most impressive have both came on softer ground, so conditions should favour today.
