Guest Jackie rubber leg
Having witnessed live the superb footballing performance put together by Brian Kerrs men in the Stade de France, I would think the men in green will be straining at the leash to put the ball in the back fo the net to allay their frustrations of having so nearly done so on more than one occassion against aworld class side in Paris on Saturday. Look no further than Henry,s admiration for the Irish side and take them to be comfortable at -2 on the handicaps and the Asain.
Guest all funkt up
Value? Ireland at -3 handicap are 5/4 with paddy power. does anyone think this represents significant value? My own instincts tell me we could be heading for a cricket score in this match. Bigger teams of late have slipped up against the minnows. Im backing them to put the Faroes to the sword - Pint of Dog on the Irish tomorrow night :beer - Opinions anyone?
snyena
... I don't think they are that bad, a very poor man's Iceland. They got a draw in Cyprus in the last round and I remember them playing a lot of close games with strong favourites + their away victory in Austria. alexmac
re. I personally don't think they will score more than 4, and thats at a push. So in my eyes the 5/4 -3 handicap isn't fantastic value, but maybe worth a few quid.
Posh Punter
Re: re. They don't normally concede a great deal, (excluding the six against Switzerland), only two aaginst France in their last game, and in the qualifiers for Euro, 2004 they on conceded more than two on two occasions both times letting in three. Guest Lardonio
Re: re. Faroe Islands are crap but they are tough fighters and will celebrate a point or a decent 1-goal defeat as the greatest thing since Internet porn. I would be careful with handicaps regarding this bunch of crazy norsemen.
Rob
Faroes Beware! As a rule I think betting on 'minnows' to get hammered by 4 or 5 is a terrible strategy for international football. Faroes are rubbish, but they know they're rubbish. A half decent coach and 11 semi/professional footballers willing to frustrate the opposition for 90 mins is not as easy to roll over as you might think
