GaF
Re: SportingOdds/Paradise Black Jack If you play strictly by the "rules" you can really boost your bankroll :ok Why's that? Have they made a mistake in the maths and set it up wrong? :unsure Normally blackjack is a negative expectation game .... the more you play, the more you should expect to lose.....there's no skill involved to beat the game (only minimise your losses) UNLESS (so far as I know) you are card counting or clearing bonuses

IF you want to play casino games this is the one where the house has the smallest percentages :ok I WILL disagree with you that there's no skill involved though... but if you're comparing it to poker... yes... there's not much skill compared to that! :D Basically I think that EVERY game of gambling require some sort of skill... if not regarding the actual game, then there will always be mental skills involved. Anyway... maybe it doesn't make much sense... but it works for me :ok 5-doubled my bankroll in 30 mins. playing very strict and disciplined. Feel free to remove the thread if you think I am giving people bad ideas :D

GaF
Re: SportingOdds/Paradise Black Jack ... IF you want to play casino games this is the one where the house has the smallest percentages :ok Agreed - this is the casino game where you will LOSE the least ;) But you will still lose..... I agree that there is an element of skill in it (actually, not so much skill, but ability to monotonousely follow standard procedures, benefiting from the skill others have displayed in working the maths out :tongue2) - however this skill is used only to make sure you pay the house the minimum amount .... variations from the "perfect play" will increase the house edge.... Don't play blackjack (or any casino game come to that) to make money (because you can't, beyond short term variance)!!! Just play for amusement.... (personally I don't see the fun in playing a game I cant win/beat :tongue2)

By disciplined I mean playing ONLY after the dealers card... ... none of that: "aaaah, I only have 12... I can have another card" if the dealer has a card where I don't need to hit again... and so on. I use Wizardofodds.com that has a "recipie" for whatever combination there is. Then it's important to play stakes you can live with losing... ... I decide my stakes from hand to hand... and they often depends on what happened the last few hands... (and female intuition :$ )
