lou saban
Re: Womens Poker Tour Courtesy of BetFred thanks avon , due to mikes recent success on poker , he paid for me to enter direct for £100 + 10, betfred are running daily satellites which get you into a weekly final , ive not had a look at these yet but i was chatting to someone last night and she said there are only about 30 runners in the weekly final so i will probably try and qualify online for the next one. lou saban
Re: Womens Poker Tour Courtesy of BetFred :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy Well done Lou - sorry we couldn.t be there. cheers sam :ok , no probs, you missed a great vocalist tho , we actually thought some bloke was singing really badly , turned out to be a female :loon
lou saban
Re: Womens Poker Tour Courtesy of BetFred avon , ive looked on betfred site and can only see one scheduled tourney for $11 it has 13 runners at the mo and starts in an hour. they also do $2.20 5 seat stt for a seat in the weekly final Entry to each event costs £100, plus a £10 casino/card room administration fee, and Betfred will be running exclusive online satellites at www.betfredpoker.com with entry from as little as $1. Betfred will add £1,000 to the prize pool of each regional event and £4,000 to the final prize pool. i believe if you win a seat you can choose which event you play in and dont have to go in the next scheduled event i hope this is of some help
avongirl
Re: Womens Poker Tour Courtesy of BetFred Ahem ... that be me' date=' methinks [/quote'] Not really, or not the only one anyway. ;) And I know it's only meant in fun (:hope ). There are so few female players that a bit of positive discrimination seems to be needed to encourage us into the live game, but it's probably not a good nor hopefully necessary thing in the long run. A room full of beer swilling blokes (or women for that matter) would certainly put me off, but maybe not so others. Just as not all male players are as open minded and embracing about women playing. :tongue2 Lou, thanks for the info.:ok I have a little money left in Betfred so I'll have a look at the sats. I suppose Newcastle or Sheffield dates would the ones to aim for.
avongirl
Re: Womens Poker Tour Courtesy of BetFred Taking a break from the focus game tonight, thought I'd have a look at these satellites. Daily $1.10 feeder into the $11 didn't look like it was going to reach its min 10 (and it didn't) so I decided to buy straight in. 1 seat to the live event for every 22 in, with 1 seat guaranteed. Just 10 of us started. :loon Didn't make it this time but will definitely be trying again. A lot of the ladies playing had played the last live event and the eventual winner had apparently won a previous satellite for her seat. I'm reg'd in a $2.20 5-seat SnG at the mo to win a token to the Sunday one. Come on in girls. :ok Shot at 2007-07-
GaF
Re: Womens Poker Tour Courtesy of BetFred Unlucky Helen - almost :ok Do I recall correctly that guys can enter and give the seat away if they win?
avongirl
Re: Womens Poker Tour Courtesy of BetFred No, I think that was Ladbrokes one? Sure this is girls only.
avongirl
Re: Womens Poker Tour Courtesy of BetFred Edit: - errrr, no. This is in the info on site. Online Qualifiers: Betfred Poker are hosting regular online satellites that offer all players the chance to qualify to the regional heats at a reduced cost. These online qualifiers are open to both male & female players, with main event seats being transferable to a lady of their choice.
avongirl
Re: Womens Poker Tour Courtesy of BetFred Came 2nd in the $1.10+0.10 daily feeder yesterday which gives me a token to play in any of the $10+1 super satellites to win a live seat. I think they run Sun/Wed/Fri at 8pm. Keeping an eye on numbers for tonight's, 10 in at the moment, 1 seat per 22 entries with 1 guaranteed. Will go for it if numbers stay low, otherwise wait til next one.
lou saban
Re: Womens Poker Tour Courtesy of BetFred good luck avon :hope , hopefully i will be seeing you at one of the events. i havent played in any of the satellites yet other than one that was only for the entants of the stoke live event , the value was excellent, $5.50 buy in, top 3 got a seat to the next live event , only 29 of the 71 runners bought in, with 6 players left i got disconnected for about 20 mins, by the time i got back in, i only had 3k left with 1500bb, ended up finishing 6th. im at a mates at the moment but when i get back home i may try a few satellites
avongirl
Re: Womens Poker Tour Courtesy of BetFred I'm going to leave it for tonight. There's now 22 reg'd so the 'value' has gone and I need another i-poker site open anyway tonight so it'll save me downloading one onto the laptop. Apart from the one I played the other night immediately after the main sat, I've never seen anyone reg'd in the $2.20 SnGs. I think it's a case of having it open whilst playing other things and hoping some come and join you. The $1.20 runs at 8pm and only 2 in at the mo, although it did get 20+ yesterday. Probably better on the nights the main sat isn't on. Hopefully see you there one night. :ok

avongirl
Re: Womens Poker Tour Courtesy of BetFred Well done Lou. :clap I was playing too many at once last night so wasn't chatting/concentrating enough on this. Will take a look at numbers tomorrow to use my token, but probably more likely Friday for me. i say make a qualifier a focus game' date=' then hand the prize to top placed lady and do a percentage thing again[/quote'] And thanks for the offer, but I think the little ladies would rather qualify for themselves. :tongue2
morlspin
Re: Womens Poker Tour Courtesy of BetFred And thanks for the offer, but I think the little ladies would rather qualify for themselves. :tongue2 i think its a good idea, not trying to be sexist or demeaning....... if we all played the final, there may be 2-3 seats available, and ive no doubt we could take the lot, having 3 women in the live event, cleaning up and giving players the chance at a decent tournament with decent winnings, and valuable live experience with a pl party going on in the background!:cheers
