BillyHills
Shankly Bond 2.00 Wincanton (12/1) Another very ordinary handicap crying out for an unexposed sort to beat the handicapper, Shankly Bond comes with a warning that the trainer in my opinion is mainly out of form but the fact that one or two of his have ran well lets me take the risk. Ran its usual 3 races in novices before being rated to run here and all of them had its promising moments, the big plus here is that the horse will improve for the better ground and the shorter trip. Nothing in the race stands out so worth an EW bet here at around 12/1, dont be too surprised if its gambled on though, looks to me like the stable have set this one up.;)
Mighty Magyar
Re: Wincanton ~ Monday 2.00 Photographer EW Been following this one since return from injury. Ran a well on return to hurdling in a better race last time. The better ground will help along with a certain A.P Mcoy on board today. dontbegreat
Re: Wincanton ~ Monday Tip Detail Sport Horse Racing Event 2:30 WinC Selection High Calibre Strength 10/10 Date 19/03/2007 Bookmaker/Price Sportingodds @ 3.50 (Back) Reasoning 2:30 WinC High Calibre Should be a good race with Wenger and Femme D’Avril to duel against High Calibre in this field of 9. This has to be picked to win for it having won its first two chases. Last seen 24Jan when it won by less than a length to Avaition (won next) and also had Ton-Chee in 4th (won two days ago). Did not have AP LTO but did for its chase debut that resulted in a 7L victory. Has AP again and would be nice to see it go like the last time they were together. TheRat
Re: Wincanton ~ Monday 4.30 - He's the Gaffer EW Been disappointing on last 2 starts but ground should suit better today and has the ability. Should be in the places at least barring another fall. Record at Wincanton has not been the best but I'm willing to give another chance. :hope

BillyHills
Re: Wincanton ~ Monday From the SLife It was a grim day at Wincanton on Thursday as four horses unfortunately lost their lives and jockey Jay Harris had to be airlifted to Hospital. Racing was delayed by around 30 minutes following an incident in the Elite Racing Novices' Hurdle. Warlord, ridden by Daryl Jacob, fell down the back straight, in turn bringing down Stars In His Eyes and Jay Harris. Jacob was able to walk away from the incident, but conditional rider Harris was taken to nearby Yeovil Hospital with abdominal and facial injuries. Initial reports suggested that Harris' mount had escaped unscathed, but unfortunately he dislocated a pastern and had to be put down. And while Warlord lay on the turf concussed and sedated, he was also humanely destroyed. Speaking after racing, clerk of the course Rebecca Morgan said: "We have no more news other than the fact Jay Harris was taken to Yeovil Hospital by air ambulance following an incident in which he sustained both facial and abdominal injuries." There was also a blow for the connections of Priests Bridge, who was returning to the track after 1,283 days. The mare, who had a foal last year, raced keenly and fell at the second and died on impact in the Glovers/Jones Building Contractors Novices' Chase. And Charlie Longsdon, who recently suffered the loss of flag-bearer Kerstino Two, lost another in the shape of Neysauteur after a bad mistake in the Countryside Raceday 22nd April Handicap Chase.
