Same jock as LTO also. Whilst he has extra weight to contend with since then, he is still fairly treated compared to this time last year, when he was rated in the mid 60's. The stable had a decent 33/1 3rd on the 2 Feb, which suggests they are in decent form right now. His form this time of year is good- all 3 wins have come in January or February. RussP Posted February 4, 2007 Share Posted February 4, 2007 Re: Kempton 4/2 2.50.....Gifted Gamble (RPF 10/1) Competitive 10 runner 1m Cl 4 handicap, with one prominent NR in 2nd fav Evident Pride. This leaves us with a clear, short priced fav in Atlantic Story, ridden by Jamie Spencer. Has the form in the book, 4 from 4 on the AW and keeps going up the weights but still may have something in the locker. However, at 6/4, this is no sort of bet for me, in which is a better race than it has competed it to date. Armada hails from the shrewd Willie Haggas yard, but 218 day absence is a cause for concern, as is its experience with 2 maidens runs only to its name. Ninth House was beaten only half a length by Atlantic Story lto but has a 3lb rise for that effort, and the stable is not really firing so overlooked here. Gallantry would have a chance on the pick of its turf form and stable is in form, but confidence would be tempered by its AW inexperience and trip, better at 7f. Royal Amnesty looked progressive last year, but generally struggles in this grade, whilst Cape Greko has a chance under John Egan and off a winning mark, but has to step up on previous efforts. Gifted Gamble is the bet though here, currently available at around 8/1. Has been thereabouts in its last 4/5 races in this grade off this mark, but sometimes struggles to find as much as looks likely. Stepped up to 1m today which may help for this consistent type. Interesting though is the form of the trainer / jockey combo, whose record for the last 10 runs is 1-1-3-2-2-0-3-1-1-2, whereas trainers record for the last 10 runs with other jockeys on board has yield 1 place, and 9 unplaced. RussP Posted February 4, 2007 Share Posted February 4, 2007 Re: Kempton 4/2 Keep an eye out for:- 1.50.....Elms Schoolboy (currently 4/1) 2.20.....A Teen (12/1 @ Betfred) both yield from the Howling stable, who has had 4 winners from his last 6 runners at 10/3, 9/2, 9/1 and 25/1. Has a trainer in excellent form, with very eye catching jockey booking of George Baker. Not many ride this course better than him.
