5 year olds are 0/16 and 10 year olds are 0/28 in this race so ignore anything from outside this age bracket. Unless im mistaken there is nothing here that meets all of the trends in my other thread:\ I have narrowed it down to 5 who narrowly missed out though. TARDAR, THE BAJAN BANDIT, STORMEZ, DERIVATIVE AND HIDDEN BOUNTY. THE BAJAN BANDIT would be the selection if the ground was soft, unfortunately he's not going to get it so is a no bet. The trend that HIDDEN BOUNTY falls down on is quite a strong one - only 2 of the last 28 winners carried less than 10 stone 8lb's. Also his trainer Mary Reveley has never had a festival winner which is a worry. ALL of the last 10 winners have been hold up horses, it is nigh on impossible to make all in a race like this so that casts doubts over DERIVATIVE and STORMEZ. TARDAR looks the one. The amount of weight he is carrying is a concern, ideally we need something between 10 st 8lb's and 11st 4lb's. So with 11st 12lb's would normally be ignored. However the booking of jockey E Cooper brings him right back into contention. An amateur with a good record and well worth his 7lb allowance brings TARDAR's weight to a more realistic level and makes him competitive again. He is a hold up horse also which is a big bonus. Although i have ruled out Stormez, it has to be worth mentioning that Martin Pipe has had one in the frame in each of the last 6 runnings. He did seem to appreciate the return to hurdles last time i suppose and with recent form figures of 222233 should probably be our saver. Bets (10 points to stake) TARDAR - 4pts ew STORMZ - 1 pt ew
