Was going to be on Jax +1, Caro/Buff under 35.5 and Tenn -3. Oh well, Houston/KC under looks like it's on track at least. Thats bad news mate..Hopefully get some today when my boy the redskins plays today..The side has swung in their favout and i shall be posting the american lines shortly..... So, this is what it might look like without Carson Palmer. Palmer will be on the sideline tonight when the Bengals play their preseason opener against the Washington Redskins, a team with far less pressing matters at hand. Only seven months after his reconstructive knee surgery, Palmer isn`t ready to play. Oddsmakers have set this game as a pick and the total at 35 1/2. Whether he will be ready for the season opener remains anyone`s guess, lending weight to Anthony Wright`s debut as the starting quarterback. His performance during the first two weeks of training camp earned him the chance to start tonight. ``I showed them that I could start and I played well, and I have a chance to go out and form a chemistry with these guys,`` Wright said. There hasn`t been much time to bond. Wright signed a one-year deal as a free agent from Baltimore on April 21, leaving precious few weeks to learn the offense and get on the same wavelength with one of the NFL`s best receiving tandems in Chad Johnson and T.J. Houshmandzadeh. Palmer has been practicing with the starting offense during training camp, cutting into Wright`s time to get acquainted with his new receivers. Tonight, it will be all his at the outset. ``I need to run this offense a little bit,`` Wright said. ``It doesn`t matter who I play with. Obviously, I want to play with the (starters) for a good little minute. But if I don`t, I`ll take whatever`s given to me, and I think I`ll be in a good situation.`` His play so far has won him the first shot at the No. 2 job - which could turn into the No. 1 job if Palmer isn`t ready for the season opener. Doug Johnson and rookie Erik Meyer will get to run the offense after Wright takes his turn against the Redskins. ``He seems to have a feel for the game that we`re looking for and an understanding of what we`re doing,`` coach Marvin Lewis said. ``He`s got to play, though. He`s got to get experience playing within our system.`` While the Bengals get accustomed to a new quarterback, the Redskins will get their first experience with someone other than coach Joe Gibbs calling the plays. Gibbs has turned the offense over to assistant Al Saunders, who is expected to open it up during the season. In the first preseason game, it may not look a whole lot different. Most teams show little of what they`ll do once the games start to count. ``We`ll be very simple and just do the basic things, the basic core of our offense,`` Saunders said. Whenever he decides to open up the playbook, Saunders will have some interesting options. Versatile receiver Antwaan Randle El, who went to the Redskins as a free agent after throwing a touchdown pass for Pittsburgh during its Super Bowl win, will get to work with quarterback Mark Brunell in a game for the first time. Even if he doesn`t do much, he`ll welcome the change. ``Just to go out against someone other than your teammates is really exciting,`` Randle El said. Brunell is expected to play about a quarter. Then, newcomer Todd Collins and quarterback-of-the-future Jason Campbell will launch their competition for the No. 2 job. Collins will play the second quarter, and Campbell will finish the game. They`ll switch roles in the second preseason game. Campbell didn`t get onto the field as a rookie last year, when he was a first-round pick, learning by watching. Joe Gibbs best get his finger out soon, cus their backup QB Todd Collins is as much use as a hole in the head. I never paid much att to line moves this year lol, I already bet everything under anyway. I do remember last years week 1 ,think it was 6 games the total got bet up,all those went well under.
