He was 2nd in a Grade 2 on boxing day, and also 2nd in the Fred Winter handicap at the Cheltenham Festival last month and the winner of that race won yesterday at Plumpton, so the form of that race looks solid. A drop in class to this conditions race today should secure a win.SportHorse Racing Event4.30 Exeter SelectionFlotta Strength10/10 Date18/04/2006 Bookmaker/Price>Bet365 @ 2.63 (Back) ReasoningOnly 6 runners for this class 3 handicap hurdle and all of Flotta's five rivals come here off the back of a poor run, wheras Flotta has won his last two. The was a valid excuse last summer when he finished 5th on his hurdles debut but has since won two novice hurdle races in good style and will improve from that experience & in my opinion is a handicap good thing here. SportHorse Racing Event5.05 Exeter SelectionBill Haze Strength10/10 Date18/04/2006 Bookmaker/PriceStan James @ 2.38 (Back) ReasoningHas best hunter chase form in the race. Four wins in a row in same class this season, then stepped up in class to finish 6th of 30 in the Aintree Foxhunters won by Katarino (class 2 race). Drops down in class again today and this field doesn't look that strong. Jockey gets on well with the horse, has won over the distance. Hard to beat. SportHorse Racing Event5.25 Fairyhouse SelectionFirst Down Jets Strength10/10 Date18/04/2006 Bookmaker/Price>Bet365 @ 4.00 (Back) ReasoningProbably needed the run from ten month break when losing to one of todays rivals General Striker at this track in Feb by 26 lengths. But showed an improved performance to finish 2nd in the Foxhunters at the Cheltenham Festival last month. This is a much weaker race and most of the field last ran in a Point-To-Point. First Down Jets won this race last year, has a very good man on board here and should go close to repeat last years win in this race. That form sets the standard and McCoy on board here. SportHorse Racing Event3.55 Ayr SelectionTessanoora Strength10/10 Date21/04/2006 Bookmaker/PriceCentrebet @ 5.00 (Back) ReasoningWon on handicap hurdle debut last time. 11lb rise shouldn't stop her as he won quite nicely, Fitzgerald rides this instead of other stable runner Capitana. Progressive performer who should go close. SportHorse Racing EventAyr 5.00 SelectionParkinson Strength10/10 Date21/04/2006 Bookmaker/PriceCentrebet @ 3.75 (Back) ReasoningHas won all three chase starts. Usually comes off the bridle a bit early in his races which makes the handicapper hard to assess him. Claimer jockey on today won the first two of those races. Although todays race is the hardest, he has a low weight and S Walsh is taking off 5lbs. SportHorse Racing Event5.35 Ayr SelectionOlival (Each-Way) Strength5/10 Date21/04/2006 Bookmaker/PriceSportingodds @ 8.00 (Back) ReasoningJP MCManus/Jonjo O'Neill horse commands respect here. A winner last time out, a likely improver and is receiving a stone and 6 pounds from the favourite. SportHorse Racing Event7.28 Kempton SelectionAwatuki Strength10/10 Date21/04/2006 Bookmaker/Price>Paddy Power @ 3.50 (Back) ReasoningWon over course/distance last time in a Maiden, looks on nice mark on handicap debut with Fallon on board here. No doubts concerned with this horse wheras some of these have not run since last year.
Aykay1
Re: CB's Horse Tips Good luck with those mate - I especially like Zipalong Lad. On another note, do you know why the timings at Kempton are a bit off - i.e 7.28pm?
