Bobbyhead
Anyone got any early thoughts here? I'm being drawn to Paddy Power's 4/1 for a top 10 finish for Sabbatini.Obviously playing well(3 top 10's in 5 starts this season),and has a bit of form in this event (runner up in 2003 & top 15's in 2000 and 2004). davidmphill
Re: Nissan Open This is a tournament that Tiger Woods plays regular so i'm led to believe and he's yet to win it! I'll have a closer look nearer the time but its a bloody good field this week and will be tough to pick a winner I reckon.
andycolclough
Re: Nissan Open I cant see past Tiger myself, He's hit the ground running after an extended break. Sabbatini is good value for a top ten finish but i think i'm gonna stay away from this untill it starts and maybe have a look in runnung. winbet
Re: Nissan Open Mike Weir anyone? Won here in 2003 and 2004. He was t37th last year in what was a bit of a non event because only two rounds play was possible. Not sure how his Pebble Beach final round will effect his confidence though. Sabbatini and T Clark are two I like the look off. Both in form and Sabbatini was T2nd here in 2002. Couples and Funk are two who tend to go well here. Funk 3 top 10's in last 4 years here looks big for a top 10 place: 10/1 at stan james. Couples has had 11 top 10 finishes here in 24 appearances. caber tosser
Re: Nissan Open i like to look at last years form then take out high rounds scored but because of last years farce got to go in here slightly blind.tiger has this trophy missing from his haul so who knows strongest field this year so tread careful guys :beer

BillyHills
Re: Nissan Open Ok heres my efforts for this week. A very tricky field to sort out and as some have said its hard to get away from Superman once again. Decided to go and seek value in the side markets again and leave the outright to you brave guys! Top Aussie S Elkington 18/1 Bet365 EW Good value in this field with only 9 Aussies taking part and getting 1/5 odds 1,2,3. Elkington is the outsider of the party but i cant see why, he has played well here time and time again and 18/1 is too big. Top European L Westwood 11/1 Sporting Odds EW Now, Westwood is bigger at other firms but SOdds are offering 4 places, in my opinion if a firm offer you more places you take them everytime, it works out much better especially if there are joint places etc... Westwood may not have been as active as some like Donald & Olazabal but he likes it here and usually plays well. Not a strong european contingent so a sporting price. Also C Pettersson 14/1 Sporting Odds EW Once again takeing advantage of the 4th place, Pettersson if in the mood can perform with the best and also has played very well here before. Needs a good start because he tends to drop his head if things go wrong early. Good value at 14/1 though so worth a small risk. T Clark to bt H Stenson 72 holes 1.90 Ladbrokes. hard to find a confident match up but like the look of Tim Clark, hes in fine form, leading the GIR rankings which will be useful here, and loves the course. Stenson is playing great but joins the big boys this week and fancy taking him on against such good opposition. Good luck guys!

davidmphill
Re: Nissan Open I'm on Sabbatini as well so it looks like we're all hoping for a good week from him! As mentioned before he's been in great form this year and has finished runner up twice already and he can step up and claim a big prize here with a huge quality field. Tiger is the obvious selection but he's yet to win here and can be beaten looking at his record here. Sabbatini is an incredible 55 under par from 21 rounds this year. He's finished a runner up here before and has also finished in the Top 15 on 2 other occasions. 2damnhype
Re: Nissan Open Paddy Power has a decent offer this week at the Nee-san (well decent for punters with my kind of tipping record). bowles10
Re: Nissan Open a little shout for Jose Maria Olazabal who had 5 top 10 finishes in America last year & missed only 2 cuts from 16 events. I am just going to take a few bets on him this week: Round 1 leader @ 51.00 1pt Outright winner @ 51.00 1pt ew Olazabal to beat Couples @ 1.75 5pts Olazabal to finish top european @ 7.00 2pts all odds from Bet & win
Jonesy Knows
Re: Nissan Open My tip for the Nissan Open is MIKE WEIR - He won this event in 2004 & 2003 and was making his customary late surge last year at this event, only for it to come to a sudden end due to the tournament being washed out after just 2 rounds played (36 holes instead of usual tournament 72 holes) and Adam Scott winning a play-off. I got 28/1 for him at Paddypower which are paying out 1/4 odds 5 places and offering to give your money back if your bet does not make the cut! Tiger Woods is in flying form, however he has never played a tournament as much as this in the world and has never won it! This will be his 10th year of trying! 3/1 just scandalous odds!!! Mike Weir is a solid tip as he is a steady player who has a good all round game and in my opinion one of the top 5 players in the world at the moment. He is also in good form as he finished 2nd last weekend in the Pebble Beach pro am tournament to Aaron Oberhalser. Regards,
winbet
Re: Nissan Open Weir will either be at the top of the leaderboard or miss the cut I feel, so may just be tempted with the PP offer to back him now. My bets: 2 pts e/w Sabbatini 41@ bluesq (popular choice here) Sabbatini finished runner up here in 2002 and had top 15 finishes in 2000 & 2004. He is on an excellent run of form with his last 5 events yielding two 2nd places, a 10th, 16th & 20th. 2pts e/w T Clark 41 @ bluesq Clark finished 10th here two years ago which included a round of 64. The course should suit him with his accurate approach play to the narrow greens. In his last two events he has finished 10th & 12th. 1 pts e/w J Rollins 201 @ expekt Looks a big price considering he has finished t15th & t4th in his last two events. He finished 2nd last year just one shot back in the B.C. open. He finished t15th in this event in 2002, but missed the cut in 2004 & 2005. 2 pts F Funk top 10 finish 12 @ stan james This looks decent value as Fred Funk has had 3 top 10 finishes here in the last 4 years, including a 3rd in 2003. He had 3 top 10 finishes on the U.S. Tour last year. 8 pts Verplank to bt Stenson - (match bet) 2 @ william hill This is Stensons 1st time playing this course, and while he has done well on the European Tour he may well struggle with tougher U.S. courses and fields. Verplank has played here 5 out the last 6 years with a t58th at worst in last years shortened event. He has taken part in two events this year and has finished 2nd in both of them so is in excellent form on the U.S. tour. 7 points Couples to bt Choi (match bet with tie = stake back) 2.03 @ pinnacle Couples had previously had 11 top 10 finishes in this event, including 3 in the last 6 years. Choi finished 5th here in 2003 but apart from that nothing too spectacular. Choi missed the cut in his last U.S. tour event the Buick Open. davidmphill
Re: Nissan Open Great start for Justin Rose so far, joint leader at -6 after 16 holes and a guy who has a great record here, Fred Couples is going well again -5 with 1 to play, he's won twice here. Tiger fired a 2 under score so he's well involved and will no doubt come on for that. Sabbatini just started out and is -1 after 3. Should be a great week. davidmphill
Re: Nissan Open The main thing is that Sabbatini is 9 shots clear of Tiger which is a fair margin. winbet
Re: Nissan Open I can, I am used to seeing my selections bottle it! Course is not easy to play with the weather, and especially won't be on the Sunday with the pin positions at the most difficult. Sabbatini was 2nd out yesterday and had the best of the conditions so am very thankful for that cos if he went out later he may have struggled to break par. Will lay some back as anything can still happen as its only the half way stage, around 2.7 to lay on betfair.
