Ive heard that 'Penzance' is a really good thing to win this. Im on at 12/1 but he is now 6/1 best price. Reckon he will jump off about 9/2 or 4/1 Fav. Only real danger is 'Al Eile' but he is over a stone heavier. If he wins I promised the boys I would pay for the curry tomorrow night!! :hope Happy punting

Re: Tote Gold Trophy (Saturday 3.10 Newbury) I'm sure Bowles is on that one. For me, it won't win. Admittedly, it's hard in some ways to assess this horse, what with it failing to deliver in a couple of good races before Christmas. Although those were on soft ground. Al Eile can be ruled out too - who on earth would take 6/1 on a horse now rated 24lb higher than when beaten in the same race a year earlier? Noland - worryingly short on experience for what should be an unforgiving contest, although Noland is a highly improving noive and perhaps the scope is there for further improvement. Same goes for Natal, although Natal has bonuses such as winning in big fields & the claimer riding it. But there are those who believe that you shoudn't take the claim into consideration when looking at the weights & I'm one of them. Nicky Henderson - hmmmmmm Perle De Puce has raced like a dog last couple of times and the other one Caracciola isn't anything special. Not this year, Nicky. For me, I've shortlisted 3: Chief Yeoman - trained by Venetia Williams & she's having a fabulous season. The horse thrives in big fields (2nd 40/1 at Cheltenham a couple of years ago) and capable of showing advantage on good ground, it's in arguably the form of it's life. yes, it finished behind Acambo back in December, but that was his first run for over a year and e meets that horse on 13lb better terms anyway. 4th in the William Hill Handicap Hurdle at Sandown 5 weeks ago and gave the impression that the ground conditions were begin to sap his stamina when close home. Today's conditions should be far better for this one. Nous Voila - Martin Pipe factor, Timmy Murphy factor & this one jumped impeccably en route to a very impressive Haydock win and is nicely treated for that with just a 4lb rise. Manorson - a few pounds out of the handicap, but appeals as a lively outsider, with plenty of natural speed who could be in his element if the conditions stay on the fast side. And thus concludes probably the longest in-depth analysis that I've ever posted on here. Reading back, I'm quite proud of myself. Having said that, I'm quite horribly out of form too. Chief Yeoman 10's Nous Voila 14's Manorson 20's All e/w for me and a speculative 6-way tricast (well you never know!)
