NYI @ Atlanta: This has to be my first bet of the night and it has to be a regulation win for the Thrashers. Atlanta has won three straight games outscoring the opposition 19-2 in the process!!! They are almost the complete opposite of the team which started the year 3-8 and look like a top team at the moment, and you can see why. In Kovalchuk, Hossa, Bondra, Savard and Kozlov they have a quintet of forwards that would rival the top five of almost any other franchise, add to the fact they have combined for an incredible 35 points in the last 3 games and the best part of 100 this season and you can see why when they get hot they get very hot indeed!! The Islanders are not the worst team in the NHL this year but are certainly not the best, and they have nowhere near the offensive talent the Thrashers do. Of course it is important to note that the Islanders have won 3 of 4 but I can the see the Thrashers in this type of form running over the Isles. Am considering taking the -1.5 as well as the regulation here, will decided before face-off. More later............
