NHL ice hockey - Mon 14/11

Recommended Posts

YTD 18-18-0, +5.01 pts, yield 9.45% NYI (ML) to bt PITTSBURGH @ 2.09 - 2 PTS *Pinnacle* The books are still expecting the magic wand trick which will change the Pens into the Invincibles. Yet, although they are 4-3 in November (NYI are 3-3), they are far from a reliable outfit. They beat the Islanders in NY 5-1 eleven days ago, but are just 2-5-3 L10 H2Hs. Moreover the Islanders are in a revenge situation after that loss (although their record in this situation reads 0-2. The Pens are mere 1-7 when playing teams with a losing record (like themselves) while NYI are 5-2 in the same situation. All in all, the Pens are far from an odds-on shot (best @ ca 1.8st). BTW, the red-hot team are Calgary Flames, so think twice before playing the Wild card, but the Flames are @ prohibitive odds. Colorado has some strong trends on their side but are @ similarly prohibitive odds.

Re: NHL ice hockey - Mon 14/11 After some more looking into the games, I'm adding COLORADO -1.5 puck to bt Edmonton @ 2.45 - 2 PTS *Pinnacle* Have done some more research and I do think one more rare handicap pick is worth the while here, especially at the price and in the circumstances. First of all, the Oilers have been on the road since 3rd of November and are playing their 7th in 12 nights, 3rd in 4 and the 2nd leg of B2Bs. They looked really tired when they lost @Chicago last night. They are also 1-3 in L4 and when they lost, they lost well. Colorado are coming off 6 wins and two losses, 4 of the wins by a larger margin then one goal. The teams have met three times this season with Edmonton winning the first encounter narrowly and Colorado winning the rest by 6 and 2 goals. Markannen (Edm) is looking tired and let in very easy shots last night (even according to their fans he is a shade of himself now under the pressure). Playing the Avs' offensive when you are beaten to most pucks is the last thing you are thinking of. Also the injured list counts five on the Edm side but zero on the Avs side. One more strong trend in Clo;s favour - at home coming off 3 game over, they are 14-8 ATS.
