Prizes are worth a minimum of $13,000, with maximum field of 1000, so a final place is worth approx $13. Top 5 from each satelite qualify, so the "value" on this seems to break even at approximately 59 runners. Some run at obscure times, and these have been seen to have as few as 29 entrants. As we thought, this isn't really their worth - however, interesting detail - looks like the prize fund WILL still be greater than $10k....... Thank you for taking the time to contact us. The tournament set up is a little misleading. In order to have such a structure we were forced to enter a monetary amount. $50 arose as the qualifiers have 250 places with 5 irrespective of how many enter go through to the final. There is also no direct buy in. As you correctly put if each seat was worth $50 the total prize should be $50000 rather than $10000. Any monies we make from the qualifiers will actually be added to the overall prize, so I do expect it to be over $10000 in reality.
