We're only one week into 2025 and the mass assault on the top spot in the Punters Lounge Fantasy Football League has started! @dwikyeddo's Cyber Tech FC are the new leaders and hold a 12-point lead over 2nd placed @bobsyerunkle's Big A Little A. The top two have pulled slightly away from the chasing pack that includes @Trimble89's Yamal Sells Avon in 3rd, @patriciamarc's Lucas FC in 4th, and @Team Sagga's Team Sagga in 5th. What a way to start the new year! 

The Manager of the Week accolade went to Pablo DeGreate's Pablo who managed to accumulate 105 points for the week. It was an impressive total and largely thanks their decision to captain Bryan Mbeumo who delivered 38 points off his own back. Double figure returns from Milos Kerkez and Cole Palmer also boosted the total. 

It was a rare surprise this week in the lowest score. Andy Elliot's Andellio did their best to take the lowest score for the week again with just 16 points. However, it was actually Vic London's Best In Show who could only muster 11 points to take the worst score of the week. On paper, the team didn't look too bad with the likes of William Saliba, Andrew Robertson, and Luis Diaz amongst the starting XI but the team also included the unavailable Arsenal duo of Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz. 

The transfer deadline for this week is a little later than usual at 6pm UK time on Tuesday 14th January. This is due to this weekend's fixtures being committed to the FA Cup 3rd Round. So it's a little bit longer to consider your options. Best of luck to you all!
