The Chepstow card on the Beeb is the traditional start to the NH season proper. 1.55 Tigers Lair has won his last three, all were novice events at around 2m 4f & this is his first try in a handicap chase & over this stiff 3m he hardly looks chucked in off 131 & looks one to take on. The Bandit as yet to win a handicap of any kind but was only beaten a short head of this mark at Newbury in January. Third in a handicap hurdle was followed by pulled up efforts in novice chases after the Newbury run & this one has run well when fresh in the past, could run a big race but also could run a stinker. Colourful Life 30pts @ 3/1 Paddy Power is the one for me. Another who runs well fresh & goes on any ground he will also get this stiff 3m. The trainer has a 37% strike rate in chases at Chepstow & my favourite jockey is on top, he'll do for me. Rio.
