New Bookie Experiences

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

There are a bunch of new bookmakers to open in recent months and before we look to back them on the website, we'd like to get any feedback our members have on their experiences - good and bad - to date with the following:

  • 7bet
  • Casimpo
  • Bet442
  • MyriadPlay
  • Sports Broker
  • Metropolitan Gaming Online
  • Betano
  • Neptune Play
  • Gentleman Jim
  • DragonBet

Cheers,

Tom

Genuinely only heard of one of those, barring Betano you could have made them all up!

Main thing that deters me these days is the probability of having to jump through ID related hoops so I'd be interested on any insight into who's good or bad in that respect. Who does it right away, who tends to do it when you request your first withdrawal, who hasn't done it yet when an account's been open for a while.

To be honest I've long since fallen into a "can't be arsed" mode when it comes to opening new accounts. I feel as if I've pretty much ticked off the major players and I'm worried that's all that's left is a bunch of iffy fly-by-night merchants.

I've had a quick look.

7bet - no opening offers

Casimpo - casino only

BET442 - Bet £20 get £10 free bet

Myriadplay - Bet £15 get £10 free bet

SportsBroker - Bet £10 get £10 free bet - pools system

Metropolitan gaming online - casino only

Betano - Bet £10 get £10 free bet

Neptune Play - Bet £10 get £10 free bet

Gentleman Jim - no opening offers

Dragonbet - website almost identical to Gentleman Jim

Not much there to interest me, I'd want an offer of at least £20 to bother signing up

Just think of the days of yore when 365 gave you 200 quid and lots of freebies and Betfred were called the bonus kings. i am with the @harry_rag can't be arsed approach now. if/when i lose the 2 main accs i use i will pack it in altogether. and if the gov keep interfering we will be back to "the Yards" illegal will be the only option left at this rate. think about this there were dozens of high street bookies and they didn't really know who you were. but the online cartels as i call them share all their info to identify and block anyone winning a few quid. I admit i have been very lucky in the closed acc side of things but it is only a matter of time i feel. If @MCLARKE carries on with his profitable rating pretty soon it will be of no use to him because he wont have any options left bookie wise.

Always interesting to see new firms though obviously most have to be taken with plenty of caution nowadays.

I don't know any of those @TomG I'm afraid.

It gets tougher getting on with the major high street bookmakers but the three independents I always recommend who will lay a bet and not bog you down too much with red tape are MacBet, geoffbanks.bet and Starsports.bet

All I can say is thank goodness for the Betfair exchange which is where I carry out most of my betting and where, within reason, you will never be shut down.

I don't understand why more people don't use the exchanges, it is very easy.

The logical conclusion would be that everybody would use the exchanges and then the trad bookies would have no business.

I'll have a look at the 3 mentioned by @The Brigadier, must admit I've never used them before.

I suspect they won't tickle your "free bets and bonuses" muscle but that may well signify they're "proper" bookies who are more willing to accommodate "proper" punters.

Of course a lot of the views on here are coming from the racing perspective and are perfectly valid in that respect (e.g. which bookies are better than others and the merits of the exchange). Similar may well hold true for "regular" football punters who bet the win/handicap/over and unders markets. Unfortunately you're not as well served if your specialism is in anything slightly off-piste such as "player prop" markets like goalscorers etc. You need to work a lot harder to preserve your accounts (and keep a lot more things crossed) if that's the area where you have a demonstrable edge.

problem I personally have @MCLARKE is that my business is all geared around getting the value. If you're constantly beating the SP you'll be a winner long term and the exchanges are mainly geared around the last hour or so when the 'market' has corrected itself. Macbet welcome winners as they are old fashioned bookmakers who 'use' your bets if you're a winner to get rid and usually add to. Highly recommended.

I would suggest that the beauty of Betfair is that you are betting against other punters with an overround of 2% to overcome. With trad bookies the overround is nearer 10%.
