Just 30 players here this week then. A very different setup with the staggered start. Thomas started this last year at -10 and quickly lost ground and McIlroy ended up winning the event. You would think that with DJ starting at -10 he can't lose but players on -10, -8 etc PLAY like they are on that score, so in effect we're not playing like a normal tournament at any stretch of the imagination.

I really like Webb Simpson this week. I liked him last week too, but he didn't end up playing. I think -6 is a good score to be starting. I can't see somebody winning this event who needs MORE than around 6 shots. I like the outsider status of a few like Niemann and Hatton, however are they going to win the event? perhaps unrealistic. 4 under looks to be the bottom of the barrel chance.

I should have went Rahm last week and so I wont make the same mistake this week. 3/1 to win with the handicap in place, however if scores were all level par, he goes to 13/2 which is decent enough for me. Morikawa is my third. Starts at 5 under and a fantastic ball striker which is what we need this week. Also tends to bounce back well after a poor week.

Of the outsiders, I like DeChambeau at 22/1. i think that's huge for somebody that can be so explosive. Kisner is too far back to win but at 100/1 and 40/1 to make the top 4, i'm willing to give that a point.

Somehow Morikawa manages to finish 6th (needed 5th) DJ destroyed the field once again. Xander turned up for his one tournament a year.
