Understanding the different RPR

Hi all i have looked at RPR in the past but have noted that on the previous form drop down there is a RPR for each race the horse races in, but on the OR drop down when you hover the mouse icon over last 6 OR ratings you get in running comments and a RPR rating which does not match with the previous form drop down RPR. For example, today 1/11/19, down royal 13:10 Emily moon, OR drop down rating is 132 but hover mouse over this and the inrunning comments come up for the race on the 4/10/19 and there is a RPR for 134, but on previous form the same race there is a RPR 120, why are these RPR rating different? Is one a rating prior to the race and one based on the performance in the race? And if so which is which? 

 

Hope this makes sense and you can hope, as im looking for a RPR based on actual races not one based before the off, such as on the racecard.

That's a good question! I'll let the more experienced horse racing punters give their view, and I'll have a look at this myself a bit later.
