Cheltenham Festival Countdown

This years Cheltenham Festival takes place from the 13th March for four days.

We kick off on day one with the Champion Hurdle followed by the Queen Mother Champion Chase on the Wednesday.
The highlight on Day three is the Stayers Hurdle all building up to the Friday finale, The Cheltenham Gold Cup.

In this thread we can hopefully share our thoughts as the trial races are run throughout the season, at this stage all of the dreams are still alive but as we know the picture can change dramatically.

Charlie Hall Chase (3m)

The first big race of the season for those targeting Cheltenham in March. Often the race cuts up and it produces a unsatisfactory trial, Cue Card won it two years ago from Dynaste and twelve months ago we had a surprise result when Irish Cavalier prevailed at 16/1. Cue Card looked in need of the race back in third.

This year Cue Card attempts to make amends and this time will have Coneygree in opposition, there is 3lbs between them on official figures so it should be a good battle. Others rumoured to be lining up are Bristol De Mai, Virgillio, Definitely Red and Vieux Lion Rouge and if they all turn up we could have the best Charlie Hall for sometime.
