Master Joe
Uttoxeter: 3.20: Magic Sky You've always got to respect French Imports bought by Nicholls and this horse was beaten in Feburary by 5 lengths in a Chase and the winner of that race previously was only two lengths behind the very classy Ambobo in November who was antepost favourite for the Sunallaiance Hurdle at Cheltenham, and as he is running on todays ground it suggests Magic Sky is expected to improve a good deal better than the very soft ground he was encountered. This horse ran in a quite decent contest last time out at Auteuil, was cantering 2 out but was pulled up lame just after that, the handicapper has taken no chances with him but should go close. 4.25 Merry Path Had three years off from the professional circuit (ran in Points last season) but last time out over the Course this May he beat a very progressive horse comfortably by three lenghts called Gallik Dawn who previously won a decent chase at Stratford by 10 lengths from useful stayer Bright Approach. Merry Dawn shaped as though the extra distance will come in his favour in that outing, and with a light weight at the foot of the handicap and open to more improvement even though 11 years old, could run a big race around 12-1. Curragh: 2.05: Ringmoor Down This is my favourite sprinter and firstly put a line though all her 6f races as imo she is not so effective over the extra furlong. This is a drop in grade as she has been contesting in the highest company, third in 5f Group 3 in April behind Avonbridge, won a Group 3 at Curragh & Goodwood last year and her last run in this class and todays trip was April last year when she won.
