  1. Re: Joe's Jumping Tips Right we are 35 Points in profit now and need a few winners lol, I have a few gooduns for the opening day of the two day Punchestown Meeting. On Thursday I am going to OPPOSE Kicking King in favour of another horse in the race....not War Of Attrition btw........;) PUNCHESTOWN 3.15: ROOFTOP PROTEST (Win) I am going to oppose the forecast 4/6 fav Wild Passion as I have a few question marks about his form and was an absence of 176 days to overcome. However I'm going for the fast improving Rooftop Protest who won a very compeititve English Class B handicap hurdle by 9 lengths on the bridle last time and for a horse to win a race of that grade very easily must be potentially very good. The jockey takes off 7lbs and I reckon the plan would be to strech Wild Pasions stamina as he has a fitness advantage. 3.45: MISTER TOP NOTCH (Win) Todays race is Maiden hurdle but he won 2 bumpers and was 8th of 24 runners in the Grade 1 Cheltenham Bumper at the Festival where he was only beaten 9 lengths. He has the best form in the race. 4.15: ADAMANT APPROACH (Each-Way) I remember backing this horse in the 2002 Supreme Novice Hurdle at the Festival. He was in front, when, he fell at the last!!!! Stupid horse :lol !! And since then he has some decent graded form. One piece of form that strikes out from last season was in Jan in Irelands biggest Handicap Hurdle of the year where he was 4th of 21 and was placed. He runs off a 9lb lower mark here and It wouldnt be a surprise if he is thereabouts again here. Racing Post put him up 14-1 which is decent EW value. 5.15: COLONEL MONROE (Each-Way) I have compared Racing Post Ratings and BHB Handicap Ratings with him and the other horses here and I'd say he is handicapped to win this race despite being around 12-1 and a further plus is that the jockey takes off 7lbs. Lets have a each-way bet becuase of that price.
  2. Re: PLACEPOTS - Here please £1.9k landed 30/09 Hi Waynemcke, This is it? http://www.mybetting.co.uk/tote-placepot.htm I think it does exactly as what you say.
  3. Re: Racing Monday Excellent AK, class tipping :clap :clap
  4. Re: Jumps - G Lee - Bowles' system Yes mate I watched the race, he doesnt look like he is going to make a classy hurdler as Darrias giving him 8lbs and still won quite easily by five lengths. I dont think it was experience that cost him the race as he jumped alright, its just Darrias is simply a better horse over hurdles. However Backbeat made two mistakes, the one you mentioned and at the open ditch in front the stands 1st time, still a bit novicey but look set to make a decent staying handicapper this season.
  5. Re: At-a-Glance Flat Notebook Bowles10, can we have a Jumps thread now, the last Group race on the flat is next week the G1 Racing Post Trophy and from then on its the jumps!!!, the Jumps season appears to be kicking off now and hopefully we can a bit more intrest. Please delete Risk Accessor lol he is a dodgepot.
  6. Re: Cesarewitch Well done Fleet and what a horse this is, won with top weight and has won the best three staying handicaps this season, an amazing achievement :notworthy
  7. Re: Joe's Jumping Tips We are currently 65 Points in Profit!!! Here is Huntingdon..... Huntingdon: 2.20: BACKBEAT Won a quite decent Novice Chase last season beaten quite decent horses easily by 8 lengths. In the Grade 1 Feltham Chase on Boxng Day he has so much class he was still in contention and had every chance with Ollie Magern & Trabolgan when he hit the 3rd last badly which took the stuffing out of him and paid his chance. He jumped badly in the R&SA CHase at the Festival, but if he jumped well I really think he would have had a serious chance of running a huge race. This horse today takes a drop in class and even with top weight, he could win at a nice price. 3.35: INCHCAPE ROCK Quite a simple selection as he has currently the best hurdles form of those that have raced and Im always not keen on backing debut hurdlers. 4.10: HASTY PRINCE Why on earth Hobbs & Warner have decided against running Master D'Or who would have been Rooster Booster's pacemaker, I just dont know as there is no chance this horse can win a 4 runner tactical race against the likes of Genghis and Hasty Prince. Genghis has made the running in the past, but McCoy is not stupid, he won't set a fast pace to benefit Rooster Booster and the pace is likely to be a steady one. However Im going for 3/1 shot HASTY PRINCE who on his only previous run in a conditions race which was a steady pace which turned into a sprint, which I think is the most likely scenerio here, he romped home easily by 10 lengths beating the likes of Rigmarole, Westender & Intersky Falcon. You can forget about his last run in Ireland as the ground was against him and it was is first run in 10 months, but he is likely to be much fitter to do himself justice on this occasion and I think 3/1 is great value in a 4 runner race!
  8. Re: Cesarewitch Yes Bowles10, 20/1 looks a massive price for an Aidan O Brien runner in a handicap, if he stays, surely he'll run a HUGE race! I might have a litle bet on this one in the hope that he will stay :loon !!!!
  9. Re: Champion Stakes On Racing Post Ratings, Oratorios win in the Irish Champion Stakes was 13lbs better than his 3rd to Shamardal which shows he is a different horse over this extra two furlongs. Also that Oratorio win was 7lb better than his best effort over a mile. This clearly means he is a better horse over 10 furlongs. Echo Of Light is a potentially darkhorse in the race but a negative must be that Dettori has decided to ride Layman instead who is a bigger price and Echo Of Light has hardly achieved thee form to win a Group 1. Ok, he won a conditions Race last time, but this is much much tougher task and I'd rather go for a horse who was Group 1 form.

the equivalent of this) and his lazy style of racing means he wasn't used to maximum effort both days, he had something in reserve on both occasions and we still havn't seen the best from him yet.
  12. Re: Joe's Jumping Tips Well Mariah Rollins was 3rd, but we are overall 85 points in profit which is excellent!!! Concentrating on the two Class B Races at Wetherby for Wednesday. Wetherby 3.40: MEXICAN PETE Won quite easily on his first start over jumps this season in a novice hurdle and followed that up with a very easy 7 length victory in a Class C handicap only last week where he won how he liked and the field where no mugs that day, he is clearly progressing well, the 7lb penalty for last weeks win shouldnt stop him here and I think he is a step ahead of the handicapper. Trainer has a 50% Strike Rate with his hurdles at this track as well! 4.15: EUROPA This is a top class handicapper. Last October at Kempton he won a Class C quite comfortably. He was 3rd in the Bonusprint Gold Cup (Grade 3) at Cheltenham last September beating classy horses like Impek, Fondmort & Tikram, he should have been 2nd that day as he was hampered at the last. Next time in a Class B contest when he was travelling, one, if not the best when he fell three out when holding every chance over the same course & distance, he may well have won. At the Cheltenham Festival in the Mildmay of Flete he was creeping into contention when he was brought down at the 11th so he was rather unfortunate that day. That is classy form and he must be in the shakeup today, he must have races off him from this mark as well, having been a bit unlucky last season, big chance.
  13. Re: Gordon's Picks :welcome to PL Gordon! A great new addition to the ATR section I'm sure!! :ok And the very best of luck with your picks :hope
  14. Re: Joe's Jumping Tips Limerick 3.45: MARIAH ROLLINS (Win) One of two Grade 1 winners in the lineup. The other Alcapone won a Grade 1 in April 2001, but he is now 11 and not as good as he was. However Marah Rollins won a Grade 1 last season and was a excellent 6th of 19 runners in this years Arkle at the Cheltenham Festival, that day he beat War Of Attrition who has won a Grade 1 since. She has won over 2m4f and shapes as if further improovement is expected over this longer trip.
  15. Re: Joe's Jumping Tips Mouseski WON @ 11-2 Ebony Light WON @ 7-1 The rest were half asleep camels Returned: 145 Points P/L = 95 Points :nana Isnt profit a lovely word!!! Great start!!
  16. The Jumps season has finally begun!!! :nana Throughout the season I'll be posting all my Jumps tips in this thread. 10pts Win on win selections 5pts Each-Way on Each-Way Selections Chepstow 1.15: MOUSESKI (Win) On a 40lb lower mark over hurdles than Fences, thats almost three stone! In March over fences carrying that 40lbs more he finished only three lengths behind the winner of a Class A Handicap Chase. Today he takes a significant drop in grade and is potentially thown in to win here, is unbeaten in two races at this track and both Paul Nicholls and Ruby Wlash have a good 28% strike rate at the track. 2.25: URSIS (Win) For a horse to win on his jumping debut against 22 runners and win easily by 5 lengths on the bridle! and although the field that day wasnt anything special, he couldnt have made a more impressive start to his jumping career and he must be a classy horse with potential this season. 3.00: CHARANGO STAR (Win) Won on his chasing debut last time in convicing fashion beating the odds on favourite who on his best form was once 2nd in a Grade 2 hurdle at Cheltenham bheind the useful Comply Or Die and Charango Star looks fully capable of winning again today. BANGOR 2.55: IRIS'S GIFT to beat OLNEY LAD in a Straight-Forecast Iri's Gift should win here but is no value in my opinion at 4/5. Racing Post have tipped up Mount Karinga, but Olney Lad has stronger handicap form over hurdles as he has won his last two races in Class B contests, beating a field by 8 lengths last time and was heavily eased near the finished and is clearly improving, wheras Mount Karingas best win has came in a Class E. 3.25 EBONY LIGHT (Each-Way) His last seven runs he has been placed on every occasion: 3222323 all those runs have been in Class C or D races (today is Class D) and taken this stat alone into effect he must have another great chance again to get placed.

  21. Re: the cambridgeshire I do also think low numbers have an advantage so: Shot To Fame (Stall 8) Woodcracker (Stall 3) Both EW
  22. Re: the cambridgeshire Source: Racing Post THE effect of the draw in this afternoon's Totesport Cambridgeshire could be even more significant than had been first thought after a Channel 4 investigation suggested that horses drawn low will hold a potentially significant advantage. With the help of John Francome, Jim McGrath and a pair of measuring devices, Channel 4 Racing discovered that there was a discrepancy in the distances that horses drawn on either side of the track in the 30-runner handicap will race over. The investigation was triggered by a TurfTrax report on last weekend's Queen Elizabeth II Stakes, which showed that winner Starcraft had been required to cover more ground than runner-up Dubawi despite the latter having appeared to take the more erratic route. According to the results of the experiment, horses racing against the stands' side of the nine-furlong Cambridgeshire track will have nine metres - the equivalent of three lengths - less to complete than those racing on the far side of the racecourse. That should, in theory, favour low-drawn horses such as the well-fancied Kew Green (stall two) and Realism (stall one), while possibly harming the prospects of rival market front runners Blue Monday (stall 28) and Star Of Light (stall 30). More rainwas last night heading towards Newmarket, where the ground was being reported as good to soft. Clerk of the course Michael Prosser said: "We are expecting around 4mm but it should be gone by midnight and after that it promises to be a dry morning with plenty of sunshine though there is the possibility of isolated showers during the afternoon. "If we get no rain the ground might be fairly dead, so any rain would at least ensure the horses get through it fairly readily."
