Tote Scoop6

There was no winner of the Scoop6 on New Year’s Day. This is great news for you as the Win fund starts at £534,080 and the bonus fund at £157,342. Both these totals will grow rapidly as more stakes are placed.

totepool predict the combined win and bonus fund could be worth over £800,000!

The Scoop6 takes in action from Sandown and Wincanton with final four legs shown live on ITV. The win fund is on a run of six consecutive rollovers, while the bonus pot hasn’t been emptied since November 26. (www.scoop6.co.uk)

Races

Leg 1: 1.15 Sandown

A tricky handicap chase to get the ball rolling this week and the obvious starting place would be last time out winners Atirelarigo and Mercian Prince. Of the pair i would just prefer Mercian Prince as he is on the upgrade and was very impressive last time. Venetia Williams saddles Marcilhac who has yet to show his best over fences but didn't run too badly last time in a decent race and is one for the shortlist.

Leg 2: 1.30 Wincanton

Similar to the first leg, a 14-runner handicap chase. This over 3m1f at Wincanton and none of the runners can be said to be in sparkling form at present. Top weight Sonoftheking was second last time out after a break so may step up on that run which would be nearly good enough. Of the others I would probably take a chance on Cucklington who makes his chasing debut for Colin Tizzard and can only improve for the switch.

Leg 3: 2.05 Wincanton

Fewer runner and a better class of race here and the paper favourite Fox Appeal will be popular now that he has regained some form. He won nicely at Ludlow but is up 11lbs now. I'm expecting a bit more from Orbasa this time now on a flat track, he weakened at Ascot last time but has some fair form in the book and should be in the mix up here.

Leg 4: 3.00 Sandown

The Final of the Veteran's Series and a cracking renewal on our hands. 19 runners line up and its a wide open contest and loads of them are in with a chance of some sort. My three against the field are Gas Line Boy, Forgotten Gold and Loose Chips, you could have three more and still be looking for the winner. Of the trio i would plump for Loose Chips who often runs well here and is a really good jumper.

Leg 5: 3.15 Wincanton

Our first race over hurdles and plenty of horses coming here after decent runs last time out. Above Board is the one that pops out of the list, a typical Jonjo O'Neill horse who runs for the first time in a handicap.  Fortunate George is a decent alternative, he ran ok at Cheltenham in November and stepped up one that last time at Ascot and should be spot on now and ready to strike

Leg 6: 3.35 Sandown

Just 10 runners in our 'finale', a Class 2 handicap hurdle. Top weight Robinshill is in great form and didn't run too badly in a hot race at Newbury a couple of runs back. Nicky Henderson saddles a French import for the first time since coming to to the UK in Discours D'un Roi and could be anything while his stable mate Maestro Royal should be thereabouts. Alan King's Chocala is another for the shortlist on his first start in a handicap.

Perm

Leg 1: Mercian Prince, Marcilhac
Leg 2: Sonoftheking, Cucklington
Leg 3: Fox Appeal, Orbasa
Leg 4: Loose Chips, Gas Line Boy
Leg 5: Above Board, Fortunate George
Leg 6: Robinshill, Discours D'un Roi

:ok
